Went 2 training on wed and lance was not there. Had it confirmed that he won't play this weekend slight leg problem. Looking at our emergencies, teague may get another wasted game. My problem is that the club knew he wasn't playing yesterday why not give livo, bower or hartlett a go. Just goes 2 show that dennis talks shit! After the game last week was quoted as saying that the club would use these last 5 weeks 2 see who wants 2 play 4 this club and what we really have.

We are in deep deep trouble then....

I said at the start of the year if Lance goes down so do we... While we haven't won many games with Witnall having a great year, we have at least been very competative...

On Saturday the floodgates will open without Lance i believe..

I think you'll find that they are as follows: Bannister,Teague and Deluca.
Personally would like 2 see bano get a reprieve, very stiff 2 get droped.

Dash it! 200 will be in Round 22 if that is the case.

You rate his season higher than I do FF.
He's playing OK footy but his importance to our side is well down the list IMHO.

Agree!
We should still be looking at trading him.

Being realistic knackers. The club's got NO MONEY. You really think that they would pay any sort of unnecessary cost. That's the exact point i'm making son. Would love 2 see kennedy, hartlett, bower or even livo play!! The club knew he was out on thursday why name teague as an emergency!

Bannister in...
Perhaps DeLuca in as a forward and Waite gets the chance to go back?

Wouldn't mind seeing waite down back. Played his entire first year of footy with the reserves at CHB.

Bryce Gibbs gets 37 touches, 11 marks & six goals...

Lance Whitnall is replaced by David Teague...

Looks like the club knows who they want come draft day...

I think he pretty much is our structure in the back half that's all :)

T-Bird is great too but witnall is the glue that holds us together IMO.......

If we could get a suitable trade then i would go for it. (1st round pick or even a second round pick.) However it would be dificult to do to him after such a good year, you know what i mean.

You mean it would be better to trade him after a crap year when he's worthless?

This is one of the great problems with our club over the last 10 years. We used to send players to St. Kilda in exchange for guys who could help us to a flag (Perovic, Rice, Devonport... etc).

Now we tell ourselves that they're too valuable to let go and we end up with an aging stale list.

Whitnall's had a reasonable year (for once) but he's going to be a major liability within 2-3 years and we'll have an asset worth zilch.

And on it goes... :?

Just slightly above or below Stevens BV?

Joke

His first half was fantastic and had him almost on the first screen for Brownlow betting. As Synbad has said, sides are finding a way to match him up and go through him.

He is still our clear leader on the field though. Every huddle, after every game, it's big Red leading the side and on the odd occasion where we've had chances to snatch a game, he's been noticeably passionate in his addresses at 3/4 time.

Pity he's out but it's hardly going to cost us the game.

Good get by the way troybond, if it turns out that way!

We not going to have an ageing list in a hurry at all. That's why we need Lance as a leader for our kids more than any other time. How do you think a pile of kids will play without leaders. We going bad enough as it is, we don't need to go backwards further as we wait for them to develop. If someone's playing well, and Lance looks like being an AA, you just don't trade them for a kid that'll take 3 years to develop. It also sends a bad message......play well and you have trade value. Then of course what happen once the "kid" starts playing well, we trade him because he has value!!! Decent sides don't work that way. Last couple of years, people have wanted to trade Lance, Fev, Stevens, imagine where we'd be without them. People do give you a good laugh though. Besides, Lance is contracted for another year and will probably be our captain next year.
