Changes for next week. Tough one as the normal wipping boy Bannister in my opinion was one of our better players. Out Russell,Blackwell In Smith,Bower Both Russell and Blackwell need game time and plenty of ball.A spell in the twos will be good for them.Smith should of played against the hawks.Bower has played well since coming back from injury. |

Not sure they will play 2 1st gamers. Smith is a must to come in for Russell. Blackers should be left in and be given a chance to get some ball in the 1's. This is all part of learing the trade. If Blackers had of had a bad 3 or 4weeks then yeah I would say back in the Ants. But this is 1 game, alot of players have a lean week here and there. Bower to play his 1st game vs Collingwood if he has another good week. |

I think it might be the case Synners - cut off has come and gone and unlike Smith the club has made no mention of Jackson. I hope Smith and Bower get a game this week but i doubt it. |

Blackers can get plenty of the ball in the seniors, no need to drop him to the VFL for that. But first, he has to BE ON THE GROUND AND NOT ON THE BENCH!!! Agree with Smith in, and surely it makes no sense to be playing Stevens with groin/foot injuries at this stage of the season? Fev - yes, I think it's important that he play through his injuries. One, to win the Coleman and Two, we're completely and utterly stuffed without him. But surely Stevens can call it a day for 06? |

I'd like to see Bower, Jackson, Smith and if fit Hartlett in. Play them all. What have we got to lose. It's bloody annoying seeing teams like Richmond, Brisbane and even the Bombers play a heap of 1st gamers this year. We are bottom and how many 1st gamers have we had this year…. 3 Blackwell, Murphy and Kennedy. Disgraceful. If Jackson can't play a game because he's missed the cut off for promotion that's BLOODY disgraceful. Heard Pagan saw a few weeks ago he'd like to play Bower, Jackson and Hartlett. Well, bloody well do it now Pagan. No wonder we are getting poor attendances each week. Does Pagan really think we want to see the same shit week in week out. Think about our membership for next year, I can see more members dropping off if we don’t get a glimpse of the future in the last few rounds of the season. Better to get rid of Pagan at seasons end…. Considering how much revenue we may lose from lost memberships it may be cheaper to have Pagan out. Outs this week please: French, Carrazzo, Mcgrath and Bentick. Keep Russell and Blackwell in and keep them on the ground for a whole game for f$%&s sake. |

Agee with the outs. Give the boys a rest, JR just had one of those days yesterday and Blackers lack of game time. Bring in Jacko and Smith IMO. |

Did anybody notice Fullmonts post suggesting that we cannot play Jackson unless he was elevated by last Wednesday (the cutoff date for rookie elevations) I would love to see Ryan get a gig but it is a bit pointless calling for his call up if we are unable to do so. I would also like to see Hartlett and Bower get a run, but maybe the match committee think it is more important to give a couple of marginal players a last chance rather than play guys who are assured of playing on next year. |

A brief chat to someone a few weeks back on the golf course who used to be associated with the club in a big way and may have even had a crack at being a coach over the border a while back likened young Bower to one Ang Christou. Said that the introduction of a young Ang in Round 22 (1991?) made a huge impact on the kids confidence over the summer knowing he was well and truly in the mix...went on to have a pretty good career. ...Was hopeful the same might be done with PB. I concurred and went on to birdie the next 2 holes. |

...Was hopeful the same might be done with PB. I concurred and went on to birdie the next 2 holes. That's two things I'd be very happy with. 1. Bower being as good as Ang 2. Consecutive birdies |

Where does it state he must be listed by last Wednesday? The article RE Smith suggests Jackson still has a chance if he knocks hard enough? I know their is a cutoff for long term injury lists which Davies, Murphy and Saddington are on i believe. This is all i can find on the great AFL website. http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=aflinf ... eid=240716 |

Out: Houlihan(slow as treacle & soft) Carrazzo Stevens(fix his injuries!!) Not making excuses Budzy, but watched the Foxtel interactive replay ( I think it's on again on Tuesday night?...well I was at the game so I leave it on the Carlton camera if I'm watching the interactive....Houla was chucking his guts out at the 3rd quarter ...he obviously was sick as a dog. No wonder until the last he had about 4 possies...amd I think he was meant to be tagging in the midfield? surprised we got no clearances until after half time?...anyway, as for next week I'ld be dropping back anyone eligible for the Bullants finals but needed to qulaify or get a few touches etc...if that Russel, Blackwell, Setanta, etc...don't care. There will be 4 valuable weeks worth of experience in September for the sake of missing a game now |

I agree with dropping players so that they qualify for the Bullants finals. Those guys deserve any little rewards that they can get. I also don't like us playing people who are sick or injured... Fev being an exception due to his finger. Houla has been superb for us over the past month. So don't worry about yesterday's game. He wasn't the only one down. Is Wiggo available to come back in? Houla sure does seem to attract an enormous amount of unfair criticism. |

Bit stiff about Houla.. http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/common/story_page/0,8033,20116413%255E19762,00.html Quote: Special mention, too, to Shane Crawford. Over shin splints, Crawf was back to his gut-busting running and precise disposal. He ran amok before Ryan Houlihan understood what Heath Scotland could not of coach Denis Pagan's orders: run with him.
Might explain why Houla was spewing his guts out at 3/4 time, just trying to run with Crawf would have done it. |

Couldn't believe that we [CFC] banged the drum about Smith being elevated and then not play him. While I was happy with Banno, not sure why we didn't play young Jesse. |
