we got a new coach....?

Maybe not? Maybe?

We all know Pagan worked him out and helped him alot...if we were to recruit a new-age younger coach with a more free attitude would Fev revert?

Just a discussion point...what are your thoughts?

I actually think it was Brittain sacking him which changed his ways. Pagan just kept him at Carlton.

:-D

And then apparently at the end of last season Brittain sent him a letter saying if he was still coach of carlton he'd still sack him - and that really got Fev back on track.

LMAO!

You know what I mean Dannyboy, if Pagan didn't give him the lifeline Malthouse or someone else would have. I'm greatful Pagan kept him but Fev was his own worst enemy back then.

I highly doubt it. Brendan would try his bloody hardest to forge a good reputation with the new coach. He knows it was Denis who kept him at the club and would realise that he needs a good relationship with the match committee in order for him and the team to play well every week.

He's an intergral part of our gameplan - he understands the value of himself to the side.

Brendan has learnt his football from Denis. If he left, it'd be like 'leaving home'. He may feel a bit out of it early on, but after a while it'd just make him a tougher person.

I thought the question was going to be about the captaincy and whether he'd go backwards at the disappointment of missing out.

Personally I don't think he'd go back under either scenario.

it is as simple as that really

we can dismiss it all we like, but it really is that simple at times.

people grow up, people mature.

if they surround themselves with people that like to act the goat all the time, they too will act the goat all the time.

if they surround themselves with more mature people they will become more mature.

fev, and i reckon he would freely admit this as well, has grown up a hell of a lot in the last 12 months, and that in no small part would be down to his relationship with his now wife and children

good on him too

It's interesting to see that when Fev is on the Sunday Footy Show and even when they did Family Feud, he normally has Mia along - she clearly dotes on him and he is obviously devoted to her.

I can imagine that he would be loathe to disappoint her in anyway that would make kids at her school tease her about her Dad.

From what I understand she goes to the footy quit a bit to watch him too, so that would also be a great motivator for him not to act the dill.
