Now, a month ago most of us would have agreed that Sporn was odds-on to be culled from the list. Now, some storming performances in the 2s, and a good game yesterday (and you'd guess another chance next week) may have the MC reconsidering. What would you guys do? CHOP: many chances.. to little too late, and we need the list space SAVE: might be just striking a chord.. deserves another preseason to get him up and going ![]() |

Interesting. Possible, but I wonder if anyone would see value. We might be able to chuck him into a deal to send Stevens back to Port Adelaide ![]() |

Where has he been the other 20 rounds this year and 100+ games the years before that? Also remember we still lost by 44 points, as far as I'm concerned he is gone, no one would pick him up in a trade this year, unless it was a seventh round. |

Maybe a one year contract would be appropriate? Remember Wayne Johnston took a long time to develop. Confidence can make a huge difference, maybe Sporn has just found some? |

If we believe no other club would take him (which strikes me as pretty bloody likely) why would we keep him on our list? Do we want footballers who can't get a game with anyone else? |

I would personally still delist him ![]() But what if he plays a blinder in Sydney, gets 35 touches and towels up Jude Bolton... would THAT be enough to change our thinking? |

Sporn or McGrath? Thats a pretty good way of looking at it, SPorn has more upside, McGrath is as good as he gets..... Sporn? |

it some ways it comes down to just how many picks the club wants to use and whether Denis survives the cut. I think Sporn is still I the mix - this club just does not seem to be in any hurry, sort of has a 1950's strolling out of the war feel to it. God roll on 60s! He should be delisted with about 7 other blokes but I fear he'll be retained unles the club are really trying to stir up interest in him but that would mean we have a plan. Do we have a plan? Maybe a WW1 plan - trenches and masks to disguise our fear. Oh roll on brave new year! |

Sporn? but McGrath, though no champion, has shown a lot more on the park than Sporn has... Sporn may never reach McGrath's standards... lofty, though they are |

He may just have saved his arse. If we de-list 7 players it would be at least; Longmuir Saddington (depending on knee reco) Chambers Prenda Teague Livo Davies Possibly; McGrath Bryan or ADL If you look at Sporn and Tuck, there are some parallels to the two players. Similar height weight and position. He could survive one more year for the 2006 recruits come on. http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_p ... &pid2=1400 |

i agree with that list, Duke.. except I'd say: Bryan was a certainty to be chopped ADL and McGrath are safe and a choice between Sporn and Bannister would be made. I think they can keep one but not both. You'd say it'll be Bannister who remains. I think Sporn would have to play the game of his life next week to come back into reckoning. |

Delist Sporn and McGrath. At best, they are good VFL players. Neither would be in the starting 22 at any other club... |

I'd be happy with a late pick for Sporn, but I think we'll struggle to find another team who'd want him. He can definitely play, but has barely shown it at AFL level. |
