Not sure what it says but interesting to see a few constant vote winners in the games we won or drew.

Now please make two lines: one for those who think this shows how important these two are, another for those who reckon they're frontrunners.

Round 1
Carlton 13.15 (93) d Melbourne 10.12 (72)
3 Stevens (Ca), 2 Scotland (Ca), 1 Waite (Ca)

Round Seven
Carlton 17.9 (111) d Essendon* 11.12 (78)
3 Stevens (Ca), 2 Fevola (Ca), 1 Scotland (Ca)

Round 16
Essendon* 16.9 (105) drew Carlton 15.15 (105)
3 Scotland (Ca), 2 Simpson (Ca), 1 Lucas (E)

Round 18
Carlton 12.8 (80) d Melbourne 10.13 (73)
3 Scotland (Ca), 2 Stevens (Ca), 1 Walker (Ca)

It shows that if your midfield works, you win games.

Thus GET GIBBS

Sample size is too small, you need at least 30 wins to determine a relationship.

That will of course take you back to before Scotland and Steven's time at Carlton. 8)

Could also be a reflection of umpires giving votes to the guys that look good running with the ball rather than the blokes stopping the opposition?

Was very happy to see Bentick get votes in the Swans game as he works hard enough for 3 midfielders sometimes.

Those were his only 2 votes? What a rip!

Oh, and no way NS was our 3rd best player for the year.

I've just taken a look at our last 25 wins/draws (back to 2002) and it pans out as follows (votes in years 2002-2006):

N Stevens 22 (0,0,7,7,8 )
H Scotland 16 (0,0,6,1,9)
B Fevola 14 (0,3,9,0,2)
Kouta 10 (0,3,5,2,0)
Campo 8 (2,0,6,0,0)
Lappin 8 (0,0,8,0,0)
Teague 6, J Murphy 5, etc

Fevola also kicked 5, 7, 5 & 4 goals in those games respectively, yet only got votes for his 7 goals in round 7.

Just goes 2 show how fickle supporters are about our best mid!! Everyone raves about the year simo has had, yet nick stevens has again had a very good year and everyone wants him traded why, because they expect 30 possis per game. He is our only player that get's tagged FFs! Funny thing is that in all our wins he did contribute a hell of alot! Let's trade him and win 1 game a year and lose by 10 goals every week :x

Scotland has been good and produced max output for what he is rated and what we pay him....

Stevens hasnt....we have to expect Kerr, Judd, Cousins, West output from him because thats what we pay for....however he has been rumoured to be carrying an injury much like Bentick has all season and much like Wiggins...so you cant be too critical.
Pagan appears to have forced players to play with injury and if thats the case then they get excused and judged on next seasons work when they are fit...
We dont have many class players so I wouldnt be trading the few we have unless its the deal of a lifetime....
