lets say Denis does go, and takes trout and mulkearns with him... who gets the head job (he he he) and who takes over the assistant and fitness jobs? for mine: Mitch has to be rewarded, but i would be extremely keen on guy mckenna. Assistants would more than likely be SOS and Ratts. Keep TD but maybe thinking about giving Dempsey the arse and bringing in someone like Sam Newman to coach the rucks. Absolute flower but knows more about the game than anyone else. As fitness coach, well not really knowing who is out there, the bald dude who used to be at geelong is no longer there.... |

Interview as many candidates as possible Hawthorn did it properly.....they didn't rush; took their time and made a decision. |

Should Pagan get the flick all the best options will be taken. We are too slow to react. We are so far behind the rest we will pick up who ever is left. I see clubs have started to delist players. have we????? Oh that's right we can use them as trade bait during the draft week. |

I would be real keen on Guy McKenna, but he may want to play a similar defensive game plan to WCE (1-on-1, no flood)... We don't have the blokes to run that style. As a fitness coach, we should be looking outside of the AFL and possibly Australia - someone who knows about SPEED and AGILITY. Footballers that come through the system have natural endurance - it is a LOT harder to get quicker than it is to go longer. |

I'd interview guys like Cresswell, Longmire, McKenna, Pyke, Chris Bond etc and determine who is the best option. Personally, I'd appoint Longmire. I'd let him choose his assistants. Sam Newman isn't an assistant coach and never will be. He is a once a month type coach. I'd prefer to keep Gary Dempsey as he has helped fast track Aisake's development in the ruck. |

I love that style! But yeah, i think your right...............we may not have the legs and speed for that type of play. |
