Post subject:  The Buzz: The Salary Cap and the Commodity Boom

Dear Readers and Economists,

After much inspiration from the fine works of Chris Judd in the Age, the Buzz thought we would have a crack at a football article through a Keynesian economic paradigm. And we came up with this:

In our view, the AFL's Department for Global Domination should be looked into.

:o Wow... a disclaimer BEFORE the article. That beats anything Mike & Dan or the Ghost have ever done.

The Buzz wish to advise that the people and contents of this article are entirely fictional and intended for humorous purposes only. The views of this article are those of the Buzz, and not necessarily those of the Carlton Football Club.

I think you should have had the Club add 'Beware - you need an Economics degree to understand the following article....'

If you calculated a salary cap based on property prices per city you would need to re-calculate it every year and then adjust the cap accordingly. It would make a mockery of your team's salary cap planning if the limits changed every year.

I reckon it would be easier to just ban the South Australian teams.
