Was going to wander down at lunch time to give him a cheer. I think he is selling himself a bit short.

Good on him.

He is showing team spirit rather than individual glory.

Not sure how legit it was [whether it was staged], but he stood up for his 'family' when Sam Newman made a crack about Carlton winning the drop kick cup in 1908 or something.

I believed him when he got shitty. He doesn't play the fool anymore on the show and for that we can be grateful for the exposure he affords the club.

I think that article showed that Fev is the driving force behind the Club, and is genuinely hurting at how bad we are at the moment.

He feels that no-one at Carlton deserves a parade at the moment, and he's right. If others are hurting as much as he is, then they'll make sure that we'll get parades when we deserve them.

Fev's attitude shows genuine leadership, something which has been unfortunately missing for a few years.

Bloody great stuff Fev. He would just be inviting all of the negative rubbish from the opposition supporters about coming last. When he is ther in a couple of years time it will be because the team deserved it.

The best thing about this is that Fev is putting the team and the CFC supporters first. This is leadership and sets a strong example that nothing short of getting there together is good enough.

spot on mate, and with what KK said.

i dont watch TFS - but i saw a few seconds of it last night, and i think Sam was having a shot at Carlton

and fev, straight away said something along the lines of

"have a shot at me, but not at my family"

brillant, brillant stuff. that is what this club needs.

he has matured greatly this past season, and at the moment goes from strength to strength, both in the way he plays the game and alwso in how he represents himself but more importantly how he represents the club.

a finer example (who would have thought that 18 months ago) of change and maturity in a player i dont think you will find.

a great example for the kids around him to learn from

I see where he is coming from, but it's another opportunity missed to push one of the very few positives our club has at the minute.

The Coleman is one of the highest individual accolades a player can receive, yet we haven't seemed to make a point of leveraging from it to gain a modicum of respect within the football community.

I, for one, would have liked to see Fev take part in the parade, but I respect his decision not to.

Scotty, Newman had a shot at his family - 'from a family of dropkicks' kind of statement. Nothing to do with the Blues.

They palyed it up for the camera pretty well.

k - like i said i only saw glipmses of it

they where showing a cup - then talking to fevola - its was a footy show

so the logical thought would have been fevola + carlton + trophy = talking about football

what was i thinking, when talking about that show.

a bigger pile of shit, there is not

Now Scott, don't start using Jimmae style logic, it'll end up in tears.

I reckon Fev should be applauded for this stance.

It is the Grand Final parade, apart from the fact the Brownlow medallist is playing in the GF, why should the Bronlow and COleman dudes get a gig in this parade?

Fev will represent Carlton on GF day as the Coleman medallist in the pre-match guff. That, to me, is a more appropriate audience, time and place.

Good on ya Fev!

Even though he still cracks the shits from time to time and does seem to get suspended for stupid incidents, I reckon he's miles ahead as a captaincy option. although not without his bad points. At the very least he seems to have the ability to warm the hearts of the supporters.

The current dearth of genuine leaders at our club can't have been this bad until at least pre-Barassi.

I can send you a photo for a dart board or punching bag if you like...

I can see it now, we could market Jimmae dart boards, punching bags, stress balls, motivational posters...

Anywho, good on Fev of late for being the team man, and for continually standing up for what he believes in. I hope that's a regular feature of our playing list.

Who's 'we' Jim? - you're more than likely sitting there on your own.

You'd go out as much as possible to get away from Alex?

I see both sides but kinda agree with Deano.

A touch of blue in the GF parade to remind people we exist

but then again.... I mean..... yeah.....
