I log on to TC every single day, it is my homepage at my laptop in my house. I read through every single new post each day, no matter how long it takes me.

My missus and i have even had arguments....
"You are on that bloody talking carlton website again aren't you......how about spending some quality time with me rather than talking about a @#$%&! football club on the internet"

I love Carlton Football Club, no matter what. But one thing is really giving me the shits...

Every single day when i log on here i am greeted with flood after flood of negative posts about how poorly the club is run, how bad the coach is, how poor our management of the playing list is, how poor our gameplan is, how poor our facilities are, how bad the seating is for social club members, how poor our finances are, how the AFL screwed us etc etc etc...

I understand people are angry, i understand people are entitled to an opinion, i understand that people want change, i understand that things could be much much better, but lets not forget that although we are at the bottom of the ladder, things could be much much worse....

I am so sick and tired of logging on here every day and reading everyone's posts bagging the club. This football club needs our support, as i said, i understand that people are entitled to an opinion, but for christs sake, there is opinions and then there is just plain sticking the knife in.

At a time in our clubs history where we are arguably at our lowest ebb, the club NEEDS our support, the players don't find it easy to run out there every week and get a beating, im sure denis doesnt go to bed at night thinking, ah my job is done, Carlton are languishing.

I'm sure Graham Smorgon isn't sitting down for a cuppa with his missus laughing about how bad Carlton's off field status is at the moment.
I'm sure Lance, Kouta, Fev and Murph arent sitting down for a beer on a sunday afternoon saying to eachother how they could have tried harder but they really just couldnt be stuffed.

Dont get me wrong, im not for one second suggesting that we all sit back and say, well as long as we are trying, thats good enough, because it isnt...our status at the moment, on field and off, is nowhere near a standard at which i say is good enough...and it wont be until we are holding the cup up at the end of september.

But for flowers sake, instead of blasting the club at every opportunity, istead of looking at the bad things like Thornton leaving, Livo not performing, Lack of ruck options, Russell laguishing, losing draft picks, how about we read som friggin posts about the positive things happening at our beloved club.

Some of our kids development over the last two years has been amazing. Look at the year from Kade Simpson, look at the year from Brendan Fevola, Look at the year from Ryan Houlihan, Look at the development of Betts. Look at Setanta O' hAilpin, this kid had never picked up a footy a few years ago and in the last game of the season he had the wood over Barry Hall!!!

Look at our recovery from the draft penalties with the kids we picked up last year, already we have seen so much from Marc Murphy and Josh Kennedy and Paul Bower, and we are yet to see what Jake the snake has for us but looks like a real player in the twos.

We have made/are making changes to the coaching panel. A need has been recognised and has been acted on, while it wasnt the change that most people wanted, at least a need for change was recognised.

Look at our policy-Carlton have openly come out and said, no old retreads, we want youth and thats where the future lays.....this happened and people bagged the president for saying it? he is taking a proactive step in securing our future....good on him...

Look at the major redevelopments to optus/princess/mc labour.....at completion of that project we will have arguably one of the best training facilities in the AFL at our disposal.

Low membership numbers?? @#$%&! that, given our position on the ladder and our last 5 years, i think our numbers are respectable. Hawthorn are performing better.... their numbers aren't up to ours, neither are the roo's, neither are the tigers (i dont think)

We have the winner of the coleman medal-a wooden spoon team has the coleman medal winner, we have goal of the year winner, we have a kid who played 13 games and if he played all season would have won the rising star by the length of the princes highway.

We see threads on these things, up to 5 or 6 pages.....we see a sack pagan thread go for 80 pages.

Like i said Carlton football club is at our lowest point ever, we need the support of the fans, we need to unite and show the AFL we cant be beaten, we cant be walked all over and we arent a rabble.

People are saying our board, our club is a rabble, but i personally think it starts and ends with the fans....we need to get behind our club.

While i might not be happy with everything that is happening with my beloved Blues at the moment, while i may not agree with all decisions being made by the club, @#$%&!, i love the Blues, i love everything about the club, and no matter what happens i will always support and love the Blues.

So instead of sinking the knife, lets get behind our club and if the fans themselves have to push these bastards up the ladder ourselves then lets bloody do it.

Top Post BNZ. :-D

It amazes me how some people manage to put a negative spin on everything the club does

and it all starts with membership people. may i ask why the @#$%&! there is even a thread about whether you will sign up for '07...? i mean are you serious? you support the club - irrelevant of who is controlling it - so buy a damn membership. people are always bitching about our off-field issues and how bad our membership tally is.......@#$%&! sign up!

I like your passion, bnz. If only some people in more powerful positions than us had that same passion for our Great Club.

A great post bnz. And I must say that I try and be as positive as I can be, but having said taht, people are going to use this site to vent, and as long as there are sites like these, there will be the vent factor. It's unavoidable.

However, I love the blues, and I've realised how much I love them ever since things have gone downhill. These problems have galvanised my support and I 'm sure those who love the blues feel the same.

Go the blues. Let's sing that song so loud. My kids will sing it and damn it, my wife will as well.

Supporting the club and supporting the board/coach/whatever are two different things.

The board of a football club is a democratically elected entity (most of the time). As electors it is the members job to hold the elected to account.

I'm sick of the negative bullshit too but I'm glad there are people around who will keep stirring the pot until something's done to fix the mess.

Sitting back and blindly "supporting" the board simply because they're running the club even though they're out of their depth is a dereliction of your responsibility as a voter/member.

I've heard US Republicans argue that not supporting the president on the war in Iraq is unpatriotic. I'd argue that not questioning the President and his motives is unpatriotic.

It all depends on whether you're willing to accept your part of the democratic premise.

Maybe the girls could get together and for a "TC Widows" support group (and internet forum  )

yeh awesome post bnz. I feel the same mate. I go to school every day for the last few years and cop crap for our club being down the bottom, but i always stick by them and am so proud to be a carlton supporter. I actually feel proud and i feel everyone on this site, and all the supporters out there, should come together and be united through these tough times because we are ALL going to be there as we get back up the top, and the feeling is going to be so bloody awesome.

WE WILL be a powerhouse again, and we are the greatest side in history, that's why we cop so much crap for being at the bottom. We have put so much pain through other teams hearts, and now they are loving it that we are down the bottom. BUt i always stick by my club, always. I look at the positives. Yes there are plenty of negatives, but look at the awesome positives. We have the coleman medalist in our team, and are developing a ripping forward line here, with a talented player like jarrad waite who other clubs would love to get their hands on, with an up and coming josh kennedy who if he delivers the goods will be an absolutely great centre half forward. An other option in fisher, similar to waite on the other flank who has terrific hands, betts who just won goal of the year and is electrifying and is only what, 19 years old? And also whitnall with still a few more years in his footballing career that we can chuck up forward. So there is a positive in nistelf, our forward line!!

Next, our midfield, it has shown many negative signs throughout the last few years, but when every club is down, which is inevitable, their midfield generally shows those negative signs. BUT LOOK AT IT NOW. we have marc murphy who just was on track for one of the greatest debut seasons ever, we know what he can do, he will put it on the chest of our forwards. We have simpson, again only 21 or something, who just came forward in leaps and bounds this year, what a steal with a late pick! he is a huge positive, and i can see him running the wings in our premiership side in the future delivering it onto the chest of our forwards and kicking goals on the run on his left from 50 out. We have walker, who i think will be another absolutely ripping player. He just started to show that this year, we know what he can do as well. He doesnt have the best kick, but thats a negative, and lets not focus on the negatives. Look at the positives!! again, i can see him ripping through a pack of half back and taking 3 bounces through the middle of the ground dodging players left right and centre and banging it long into the 50 for kennedy to take a ripping pack mark. We have scotland, honestly, he had a great season guys, let's be honest, he will fit along our half back line and rotate through the midfield for many years to come. Stevens i am sure will regain that form he had. As people around him get better, so will he. He is a quality player and is a PROVEN quality player. We have many more promising talents in bentick, blackwell, jackson etc, who yes are all young but there are many positive signs. and we should have bryce gibbs to add to that mix. We seirously are developing a ripping midfield here, and that is a big positive, along with the forward line.

Our defence, yes we have just lost thornton, but look at what setanta did this year, i can see him improving for the next few seasons at the same rate. His job on Barry Hall was no fluke. Bower looks to have the goods as well, and yes if we can get someone like Nathan Brown and hopefully good things can happen down there. Whitnall was awesome for most of the year, and lets remember. As our midfield gets stronger and stronger, so will our defence.!!! Hopefully Hartlett comes on, he did well in the practise matches last year. Look at the positives guys!!

We are only a few players away from really progressing up the ladder and becoming a threat. I haven't mentioned a lot of players, e.g carrazzo and russell. If russell stays who knows? Remember kade simpson took a while to come on. BUt really, if you look at our midfield, it might just be about to have two number 1 draft picks in it (murph, gibbs) and a number 2 draft pick in walker. WIth proven talent from scotland, and stevens. And the support from simmo. Here we go boys come on, lets be positive.

When im at school and having an argument with my mates, even they are saying positive things. They talk about the players i mentioned and say how they rekon we will be really good in a few years, but they just bag our club because we are down the bottom. But it's not just me, mates from other teams are saying how they see the talent we have. We are going to crawl out from this mess and up the ladder and it is going to be the best feeling!! I am confident we can sort the stuff out with the board and the coach, we just have to all be united together, let's stick by our club.

when im at footy training, i wear my carlton shorts, i am proud to show the club i barrack for. I am proud to be a supporter of this side. I am confident we will be back, and every one on TC and all our supporters should sing the song together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COME ON THE NAVY BLUES, i love this club so much, and yes times are tough, but we cannot fall into the trap of just shooting everyone down at this club, we have to get through the tough times, TOGETHER. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!! great post bnz, i feel the same mate
