http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/real ... 70787.html Quote: Jordan Russell, Carlton's 19-year-old first-round pick in the 2004 national draft, is understood to be keen to return to his home state of South Australia, and while he has not formally severed ties with the Blues as Thornton did last week, he is keen to pursue interest from Port Adelaide. Russell played 10 games this season for a two-year total of 11.

Pathetic. These two players would have been locked away in the cuppoard by now if they were at any other club and we'd be targeting or praying for Bradshaw, Notting or Polak to enter the PSD. Now we might have to consider using our pick on our player and letting them go through to improve another club's list.. ![]() ![]() We'll have egg on our faces if both Thornton and Russell enter the PSD. Has anyone seen TheTyrant? ![]() |

If he wants to go trade him, he is another wasted first round pick - Typical of our ineptitude in recruiting: the wrong size (an in between size), not quick enough, poor skills under pressure (although good skills in the VFL), decision making needs to improve, and courage at time can be questioned. he was a surprise to be picked at 9 and has shown us why. I was willing to give him time b/c he is young and an early pick but if he wants to go f#$k him. Trade him he wont achieve much at Port Adelaide and he can be close to mummy and daddy! he is worth a second round draft pick - based on potential alone. if he decide he wants to stay - I take it all back and i like him again ( but i still think he sleeps with the light on) |

I told you folks, this would happen, players wanting to go back to their states especially if there is money,i think Carlton have been defeated by the AFL,they are worried about Salary Cap problems in years, i reckon the money is getting used to clear the football department debts first, but in the process are willing to lose players to budget it, as i think it's their first goal to fix, then the players after all the debts. |

If the kid wants to go home, let him go home. We'll get a second round pick from port for him which is adequate for me. |

If we get a second round pick it is adequate to me, if not then we miss out obviously. |

why is everyone jumping up and down about this. straight swap Deluca for Russel i like russel reckon he is going to be a good thing, but could handle that trade if it happens. We are deviod of ruckmen, but have plenty of the Russel type players. would welcome a trade such as that, and im a fan of Russel |

agree re Fabian DL for JR, but I would like to point out to all those people wanting us to have another ordinary season to get low draft picks as a result players want to leave because they are sick of playing at a club that loses all the time. |

Pick 23 or Deluca is what we should be asking for. |

I've only seen bits of him so i will trust that you know a bit more about him than i do. If he's a spud then pick 23 would be very nice instead. Don't know if Port would be willing to give it up though. Maybe talk to Adelaide too. I just think we should be chasing a young ruckman from Victoria and there are plenty of them over in Adelaide currently. Trade for Meesen perhaps? Picks would probably have to be involved. |
