I don't know anything about Gavin, but good luck to him in his new role.

I did want new blood coming into the assistant coach positions, but I wasn't thinking along the lines of Pagan's previous employees.

What an absolute joke we have a coach that has no control cause he's now a puppet on a string to a board that should only be in charge of the Thomastown Football Club, and instead of going forward and giving new guys or well reputable guys a go to help us we go for guys that have been rejected from other clubs like Gavin and Daniher last year :x

I just think it's a backward decision, Mols.

Could have got someone like a Paul Hudson, but nah we, or should I say Denis, chooses to go the safe option and pick another "yes" man.

underwhelmed doesn't begin to describe my reaction.

Pagan reinventing himself by re-hiring an ex-employee... this is some sort of joke, right?

I appreciate that slitting your wrists is a Carlton pastime but low-key appointment doesn't necessarily mean 'yes man'. He's been around the traps, gone back to a senior role in the country and now gets another shot at it.

This is not a statement of support - but how would any of you know if he's good or not?

We have 2 additional assistants to come in to an expanded panel signifying additional resources to a problem area of the Club. I understand its going to be something of a new structure - not just a forward / mid / defensive structure and potentially something along the lines of Hawthorn's coaching.

If Crosisca + say Ratten + say a Specialist Coach (non football) come in to augment what we have then I'd say clearly:

* we are moving ahead with our 2007 staff better than 2006
* we are spending additional resources where of utmost importance.

That's a good thing. Could it be better? Maybe, I don't know, but I'm not going to yarp about it.

Does anyone have any more info than 'he's a hack / yes man / dud'? I don't know a thing about him - apart from someone saying he got the boot from the Roos and the Hawks (I think).

What sort of coach is he? how did N Ballarat go under him? Etc

Uh... sure. Hopefully he's pretty cheap.

Well put Molsey....we have more "woe-men" on TC than Pagan has "yes-men".

Took a very young list into the finals this year.

Sounds like he may have some good 'development' aspects to his coaching.

Carlton taking giant strides ahead...

A trading opportunity to improve our list and ND picks and we do ...nothing!

After we show one Pagan yes man the door ...we hire another!
