Post subject:  Final List of delistings

Seen a couple of players at the cox plate and they confirmed that Bryan bannister and davies have all survived the cut. No comfirmation on any rookie elevation, although it seems that flint jackson and assaike will all remain on the rookie list for now. Also mentioned that Jesse Smith has been asked to continue training with the club. They were not sure whether smith will take up the offer, as he felt that the club did him no favours, The players that I spoke to were really pissed off that the club delisted jesse, seemed to be really popular amongst the group. Anyway they did seem exited about the new season ahead. Maybe smith will be picked up thru the draft or rookie listed again, or they feel guilty about the way they treated him.

Thanks for the info. If this is true Davies should count himself VERY VERY lucky.

Bloos you obviously have a close relationship with Jesse and I can understand your frustration but to say CFC did him no favors is just plain wrong.

The club rookied him infront of 100's of other kids and gave him 2 years on the rookie list. Plenty would kill for such a chance. He worked hard at the club, on the track and in the VFL. He has played 2 more AFL cames than a 100,000 others and for that you should be grateful.

Also not every player who is cut is given the opportunity to train with the club. The club has made an effort to help the player to be picked up by another club. I can assure you the men making the decisions agonise over each and every cut because they know full well the effect it has on careers.

Whether he got enough time to show his true potential is debatable but unfortunately he has been cut and sadly that is life in the AFL.

I wish Jesse all the best in the future and I hope another club sees some value in him. You should be proud for what Jesse has accomplished rather than negative towards the club who gave him an opportunity in the first place.

Regards Cazzesman

I think your information is flawed - the good oil is that Davies is gawwwwwwwwwn and DeLuca has resigned and wishes to por all of his energies into his job as an accountant.

Time will tell who is right!!!!!!

Good luck to Jesse regardless of what happens.

Hopefully if Carlton can't find a place for him another club has seen enough in him to give him a chance.

This is all news to me...about Smith and all.

I've been travelling this vast land and managed to pick up a H-S every so often and with this news the final delistings as I can gather are:

Longmuir
Chambers
Sporn
Prendergast
Livingston
McGrath
Smith
French (Ret)
With more one to go

Is there anyone else?

And what Cazzesman said. Smith has hardly been hard done by.

A personal opinion??

I haven't set foot in George Town in 9 years. But yeah...The H-S is everywhere. Even in St George. (Though only after 12pm)

Davies. I always wanted him to succeed but don't believe we can afford to risk another year of him on the list. Has the talent but ....

Still think Banno's got something to offer. Just needs a bit of confidence.

If the club was serious about rebuilding and getting rid of players that won't be on our list in 2 or years time the following players should be axed regardless of being contracted or not:

Teague (horrible last game against the Swans - was embarrassing to see him playing that day)
Deluca - not up to it, can't mark and cant kick - why is he on our list?
Bannister - Poor decision maker and no awareness
Saddington - Injury has crippled him yet we sign him up...that’s Pagan!!
Bryan - Good VFL player
Davies - Has had chances, lacks desire and passion to make it at the top level

Mclaren to only stay on as a back up to acland. The rest should be moved on and thanked for their services.
Lets get some more picks in this draft and have a crack at some kids.

I hope that although disappointed, Jesse is more gracious than his 'friend' bloos when it comes to looking at the opportunity that he was given.

Is this right? Are the number of picks based on the number of delistings? And wouldn't that mean we would have a heap of picks at the very end of the draft? Isn't that a stupid idea both financially and strategically?
