From todays Age http://www.theage.com.au/realfooty/news ... 19163.html and http://www.theage.com.au/realfooty/news ... 19160.html I think he spoke well. I didn't think he wasn't trying to excuse his behaviour, merely explain what happened. Interesting that he says they attempted to apologise to the barman who refused. Personally . . . . . storm . . . . teacup |

Certainly the AFL has abit of explaining to do in regards to their handling of the situation. |

I liked how Mark Robinson's article in the HUN said that the AFL chose to ignore the problems of some West Coast players a couple of years ago. One standard for Fevola, another for other players. Inconsistent and I'm surprised more hasn't been made of it. |

Wish Fev didnt play the race card..that might come back to bite him....the four aboriginal boys have denied any racial taunts etc according to the AFL... I think Paul the Barman is enjoying his 15 minutes of fame and celebrity status....all his work mates seem to do be doing interviews as well....is there anyone in Ireland who wasnt actually working that bar at the time.... |

Quote: He condemned Fevola's behaviour as totally unacceptable and inappropriate.
"He came a long way this year; he has shown remarkable qualities and he has paid the price for silliness," he said. Silliness>Totally unacceptable and inappropriate. ![]() |

The witch hunt is on . The AFL denies any abuse claim, makes a big issue out of that Fev did choose not to go straight home and is very agro. Radio is in complete hysteria, especially 3 AW. Mitchell wants him hanged... What an effing media beat up - and the AFL is fuelling it. As somebody mentioned it drug users are wrapped in cooton and Fev is crucified... |

Who really gives a f*ck? He didn't wipe his car out into 3 others, totalling them all. He didn't run from a lawful roadside breath-test. He didn't beat up his girlfriend. He didn't urinate on members of the public. He didn't engage in possibly legal yet degrading sex acts with stupid girls. He didn't make a nuisance of himself while on holidays abroad and damage a hotel room. And, he didn't even go on a drunken rampage through a Uni with a fire extinguisher. F*cking hell, it must be a slow news week down there... ![]() |

Would of been better if fev kept his mouth close this time. He has made statement which he cannot back up make him look stupid. All he has done is make more headlines and make him a target for the AFL to find some other punishment to give him. ![]() ![]() |

I felt like vomiting when I heard Demetriou on the radio this morning covering their tracks on this issue. He gave a very weak answer when asked by Neil Bitchell why the AFL had a piss up at the races if this series is so important. And he didn't name the other half dozen players who were drinking with Fevola at the same pub. Fev's a scapegoat to keep this series going for the future even though he did the wrong thing and grabbed this bloke in a headlock. That flower of a barman wouldn't even accept an apology from Fevola and wants his 15 minutes of fame. |

I just cant believe how out of control this whole thing has become. And some of the venom heading in Fev’s way! Astonishing… Idiots like Mitchell, Kennett and Wilson calling for the return of capitol punishment and public lynching for such a meaningless incident thousands of kilometres away is extraordinary. Yes, Fev did wrong but they are crucifying this bloke unnecessarily. I hope Carlton and Fev take stock of this. We are everyone’s punching bag and the excessiveness of the criticism and ridicule towards Fev and Carlton is a disgrace. We should have enough ammo to take us to the next five flags based on this!!! ![]() There’s obviously two sets of standards for the players on this ridiculous junket – one for Fev and one for the rest. |

This was a very stupid thing for Fevola to do. Rightly he was sent home. He has to face the shame of his actions. But what a @#$%&! beat-up. You would have thought he punched a nun while he was in Ireland. He put a barman in a headlock after he was refused more alcohol. Stupid yes. An embarrassment to Australia, give me a break. Jeff Kennett can get [REDACTED]. We'll see what happens when one of his pretty boys flowers up next time. As for Neil Mitchell, if there is a bigger indictment on Australian journalism I'd like to see it. His head is stuck so far up his arse, even his shoulders are brown. To all the outraged people out there, GET A LIFE |

What did Wilson say? Various comments on AW through the week. Talked about suspending him and embarassing the country as if he was participating in some sort of meaningful international sporting contest. ![]() |
