95kgs and can run like the wind? If he isn't released in to the midfield this year, there is something seriously wrong. I can't wait for AW to stick it up all his doubters. |

Thats exactly what I'm thinking - and yet in most posters 2007 carlton team AW is being plonked in the Back Pocket, which IMO is a waste of supreme running power and talent. |

If he isn't released in to the midfield this year, there is something seriously wrong. The sky is the limit no doubt about it but he was developing quite nicely last year from the backline and it wouldn't hurt for him to stay there until there comes a time where he truly dominates. He's only what...... 20? He's still learning the game and he was just starting to look comfortable last year. He dominates in the air because of his awesome leap and apart from supporters desire for him to turn into Kouta Mark 11, I don't really see any reason ATM to go plonking him around in the midfield and who knows where. Just leave him be, watch him shine and who knows? ![]() |

He's done his "apprenticeship". Time to let him out in to the world and make a name for himself. He'll only do that if he's played in the middle. Let someone like JR play on a half back flank and develop his game. |

Just imagine if Pagan hadn't destroyed his career, AW would probably be better than Judd. |

If we can build a midfield without AW in it, there's no reason why he couldn't be a supremely damaging backline player in the mould of a Chris Johnson during the Lions golden era. Admittedly, it's a luxury having a player the quality of a Johnson rebounding from the backline, but plenty of premiership teams have had such a player as an integral part of their lineup. I think the way footy is played now, it's not like you hide your worst players in the back half. Considering how much ball a backman can get now, you want your some of your most damaging players there. Really, what you want are players the quality of AW on every line. Personally, I don't care where Tex wins games for us ![]() |

I'ts just my opinion here. What you do want in the middle is damaging disposal and superb work in traffic. Taking nothing away from Walker and what he may become in the future (knowing someones dad reads this) but at this point in time he hasn't shown these qualities, for one reason or another. He is a physical, enthusiastic, super hard worker and one heck of an athlete but right now I can't see him in the middle. Bring on 2007 anyway and we will see what to expect ![]() By all means put him in the middle and see what we get I just don't think it's a given or a "has to be done" decision. |
