and Caro has another crack at the board. This one is a beauty!!!

http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/real ... 03063.html

"The AFL appears to be pretty much in control of the Kangaroos — and remain determined to install Mark Brayshaw as that club's new CEO — and Carlton, to name two financially dependent clubs, yet Carlton rejected or ignored significant parts of the AFL-appointed Watts' assessment of how to fix its business. (On second thoughts, scratch that last argument: the Carlton board and how it is actually still functioning remains a mystery and should not be included in any rational argument involving the AFL and its clubs.)"

I thought that was one of Caro's best quote's mjonc.

I'm not the only one perplexed about the management of the club it seems.

Selfishly, I've been pleased with the way the board have dabbled in football matters this year ie (No Gardiner, no Zantuck, no over 24 hacks, rebuilding the football department, diluting Denis) but in reality its not their role, their job is to make us a strong profitable club.

To judge them as a board, the incumbents are without doubt at their lowest point and obviously the Watts report has highlighted the ineptitude.
This week we will probably be unable to draft a full rookie contingent which puts us where North ad the Bullies were 2 years ago.

We should feel great about the kids that are running around at Princes Park at the moment but not take our eyes off the ball with the board.
The board are buying themselves time at the moment but we are slipping further behind as they do.
The reluctance of anyone to come forward and take the reins indicates how perilous our situation is.

Even Caro has stopped taking us seriously.

I wonder if Caro has read the Watts report?

By all accounts, it sounds like the smoking gun for anyone challenging the incumbents, and getting your hands on it would probably be a prerequisite for ousting the current board.

It'll be interesting to see in whose hands it ends up...
