I've been thinking about what I want from the blues for next year, I'm not talking about 'I want us to tank' or 'I hope we make the finals' I'm talking more in specifics. So here is my wish list for next season, I hope I am not being to unreasonable. I would love for us to beat St Kilda and Geelong, it has been a long time since I have seen this happen and just goes against everything that is right that we haven't beaten the aints. Obviously there are other teams that I want to beat as well but it would make me very happy to win against these two in particular. Next I would like to request that we only lose one game by over 10 goals. I am sick of getting thrashed every few weeks , if we have to lose lets go down fighting . Is this too much to ask? Finally I would like to see us win at least 7 games for the season, if we are winless after 5 rounds I would like the coach to go and appoint Ratts as an interim solution. Is the above hoping for too much? |

I want: *Cloke to star, and prove us all wrong. *Fev to kick a ton. *Murph to play all 22 games. *Stevo to become the premier midfielder we thought we had gotten. *Saddington, Waite and Fish to be given 12 months injury free. |

Not too worried where we finish next year as another couple of high/priority picks would really be the icing on the cake. Instead I want: - I want to see all our recent draftees get game time and do really well. I want caro to write articles in The Age how our recruiting surpassed everyone else over the past few years. - I want no injuries. - I want one or two "inspiration wins". Where we are the out and out underdogs playing unbackable favourites and we win... WCE away for example would be great. I think this would give us some heart and the boys some belief and increase our momentum for 2008. When it happens it will be the turning point. I think I remember some games in 92 such as this which showed we were on track. - and finally I want a shiny new bicycle. (... not relevant I know so lets make it navy blue ![]() |

You weren't referring to Simon Minton-Connell's goal *or was it a point?* after the siren to give us a one point victory about WCE at Subi?? I'd LOVE for that to happen again, a nail-biting one point victory... ...against every team. Oh, and Murph to win the Brownlow. Oh, oh and Carlton to scrape into the eight - leaving the Pies 9th after CC tackles Byran and goals on the siren... Oh, oh... hang on - that's it. ![]() |

I want: - A competitive team that doesn't throw in the towel - Raso and Hartlett to debut, with a rider on Edwards - Continued improvement from the younger players with some experience - Cloke to do better than Bryan - Carrazzo to be eligible for the NRS - To beat Collingwood, Essendon*, St Kilda, Fremantle and Sydney - A premiership (but I'll be happy with 12th) - One of Waite or Fish to step up and make a definitive statement as the third tall (Fev and Lance the first two) - Ross Young to show the non-Ants watchers among us (including myself) what the Ants watchers have seen for two years - GIBBS |

I think you're right my memory is not that good but I am sure one of our really good wins that year was against WCE (although I thought is was at PP). Was that the year we were the first team to beat them after 12 rounds or so? Either way a win like that would be nice! |

Was a cracker of a game and the first time the Eagles were beaten all year. |

We beat WCE at PP but then got thumped comprehesively a few times by bulldogs and Hawthorn among others. |

Off the field I wouldn't mind someone with a few ideas to stand up and run the show with a modicum of management and entrepreneurial spirit. At the moment its seems to be used to hyperinflate already healthy egos and as a political wedge. On the field, I would like to see every player get a fair go (it's Australia after all John) and see some young kids stand up (Harts, Russell and Waite in particular) and see about 7 or more wins for the year and competitive spirit in every effort. |

- Gibbs to win the rising star - Fevola to continue his good form from last year and stay drama free - Murphy to improve from last year - Whitnall to captain and star - Kouta to enjoy his last season injury free and make an impact on at least 4-5 games - Waite to show what we've been hoping for - A young defender to step up and help Thornton (preferably Hartlett) - Bower to show that he is the gun that I predict he will be - O'Hailpin (S) to continue his developmemt and cement his spot - A young ruckman to get a game and show something - Ackland to show he was worth the hastle - Cloke to play good footy (for the bullants) all season long - NO LONG TERM INJURIES - Comradarie and mateship within the playing group no matter if we're winning or losing. - Stevo to push for a brownlow.... ... am I getting selfish???? |
