Denis made a point by being uncharacteristically honest, but tactically I don't think it was a very shrewd move. It further intensifies the focus on him and you know what happens if you apply heat to one place for too long, it will eventually burn. It's a fair enough article by Grant.

Another nail in the coffin....

Pagan's or Smorgon's?

time will tell.

Personally i think it will be Smorgon's.

Pagan's coffin is already nailed up and we're waiting on approval by the AFL to bury him.

He shouldn't even have needed to be over ruled on the Zantuck call.

Well, the upside is that these articles will make a challenge more likely.

Perhaps DPs plan was to force everyone's hand and to do something FINALLY because the situation is getting flowered and flowered by the second.

I dont see Denis coaching in 2007....this outburst with Zantuck is Denis taking his problems to the media and angling for a payout.....his position is untenable and the club need to fix it and the AFL need to let it happen....

I think that it places the focus on the board. Denis, on the blessings of the match committee, should have been allowed to select who he wanted to. Someone vetoed it, but who? It is the board's responsibility to solve this matter. If it doesn't then it should get out. Denis is contracted for two more years. He should be allowed to coach.

Got to say. We keep on striving.

For new lows.

In a funny round about way is the Carlton board actually drumming up support for Denis through empathy?

The media are writing pro pagan stories heck even peoples atitudes here have softened towards ol Denis.

"Poor Denis" seems to be the mantra at the moment and whats the line - "any publicity is good publicity"

Could our board actually be full of cunning geniuses that are playing the media for the whores that they are?

One can dream.

There's only so much positive spin you can put out to mask the truth.

The Truth always come out eventually - good PR or not.

What the @#$%&! has happened to the impending Board challenge??? Has it run out of puff already???

No I think you are off the mark here.

I've heard caro speak about DP and CFC and she has definately been in the DP corner all this time.
