Hi gang,

I know there has been info in here before but can't find it. Just remind me - as a member I need to register to vote?

Also as an AFL (Carlton package) member which as I understand is equivalent to Carlton membership and same money goes to club etc. I presume I am eligible to register and vote. I presume also that voting is on 2006 membership rather than 2007? For 2007 I got a Carlton membership as well as an AFL club support so next year I may get two votes, but couldn't exercise them both for the AGM?

I know I can go to the club for this but thought some of the knowledgeable TCers may be quciker and more accurate with info.

Finally has anyone got their Carlton 07 memberships yet? I paid a few months back but seemed not to have received anything yet?

Any (good) advice gratefully received.

When I renewed my membership halfway through Nov, I think the person at the membership desk said that all the bits and pieces would be sent in January.

You have to register separately to be a voting member, but once you do then your registration will carry on from year to year. This changed a few years ago as before then you had to register each and every year. I am an AFL member with Carlton club support.

You have to call the club and they send the registration papers to you. Send them back and you can vote.

I just called the club to find out some more info. You need to renew your membership by the beginning of Feb & you need to make sure you have signed up for voting rights. They looked up my name & confirmed that I had signed up for it previously & said I didn't need to re-sign, I just had to renew my membership.

Give the club a ring if you're not sure about whether you have voting rights. Ask to be put through to the membership department.

Hope that helps!

As long as the Club actually record your registration. I registered my voting rights by fax at end 2004 after renewing my 2004/5 AFL membership, but found out in march 2006 having returned from os just before the meeting that I was not recorded as a voting member. Was not happy.

Also, I believe since the meeting is in 2007, that you need to have paid your 2006/7 AFL CFC Club Support membership Subscription to be eligible to vote, otherwise you would not be a current financial member. I'm one and paid it as soon as I received the AFL membership mailout in Dec (I think it was almost 1 month late compared with previous years).

When in doubt, check with the Club. I will be overseas, so may need to arrange a proxy with someone.

I am also an AFL CFC club support member, I find it interesting that I am counted as a member in this situation but not in others eg - discount book, number of years as member pin etc etc.

Just having a whinge, please continue.

Hi all

I sent an email to the club regarding voting rights for CFC members & got this reply this morning. I have been a member for several years now, but have not signed up for 07 yet (but I will). Hope this helps with people's queries on this matter.

Hi

We do have you registered to vote at the AGM in February, however only signed up members for 2007 can vote.

If you wanted to vote you would need to become financial.

Go Blues

I agree with you 100% (god help me).

I am a full AFL member also and feel at times we are being excluded from such benefits that other Carlton members receive.
