Not sure if this has been posted....an article on these two iconic stands from RealFooty....TheAge.

I LOVE the Heatley Stand and all of it's memories.

Interesting to see what does happen with this "redevelopment" of Princes Park. Plenty of talk, but precious little detail. I can't see them trashing the 2 stands in question without trashing the Social Club between them. God knows there needs to be a redevelopment, now that it is a secondary venue (although why it is not used more I will never understand). But what is to go is a big question!?!?

I was under the impression the new development means only the ald gardiner stand is knocked down.

I have cheered and cried in that stand.

Long time ago. One time sticks in my memory. Cant remember when it was, but we beat Geelong, who were very good, and we shouldnt have won.
The place erupted at the nd of the game.

My father was on the social commitee for 10 years, and we used to sell raffle tickets at the game. One perk was a seat in the Heatly stand, and going into the rooms at half time.

Can still remember the thighs of Nicholls, as he was being rubbed down. They were like tree trunks.
I can also remember the talks of Percy Bently. Very subdued compared to nowdays.
