So what are our chances, or is the NAB cup not worth any serious consideration? For me, theres always a sense that the excitement of the pre season competition is all a bit hollow, until the real season begins. But then again, in hindsight, the dismal 2005 season was made just a little bit better for having won the Wizard wok, but by round 22, it was hardly able to be made out looking in the rear vision mirror. Who of our young players will get a run, and how far will we go? I tip NAB cup semi finals or better, with a number of strong performances, which will be a sign of the season to come, until the grind of the home and away season takes its toll, and we fall away to finish somewhere in the bottom 6. |

Not sure. I think we'll go alright, but I'm not sure if we'll beat the Bombers. |

I just have a real good feeling about us beating the Bombers and them putting in a bit of a shocker. If this vibe persists and grows over the next couple of weeks, then I will be quietly confident of a good win. Football is full of variables that cannot be easily anticipated or controlled. So, at this stage, Im not sure whether the good vibe is all just because of the persistent warm inner glow from the news of the new president during the week. As youve brought it up but in jest Tommi, Id like to suggest that dreamcaps are actually freely available to everyone, ther're not just for a favoured few. All people have access to another dimension, we just need to learn more about ourselves. Its actually a very free and egalitarian thing. |

I think it will be be great to see a team full of up an comers against the bombers. They are ahead in preperation and i would not expect to win, but funnier things have happened. Can't wait! Ps anyone know if our game against the bombers will be on free to air??? It's a Saturday twighlight game which leads me to belive fox sports 1 will be showing it, but i have not seen any conformation yet.... |

Tommi, I am fallible, but do my best to discern. Its a difficult and large universe you know. I only get to see small bits of it and even then its only now and then - and usually it's someone else that drops me the news. - kind of like getting the paper on your thrown onto your lawn on a Sunday - Sometimes its late, sometimes its not at all. Other times, it has landed somewhere awkward. But Im glad that your visits to other dimensions were enjoyable ones. I'm all for personal fulfilment you know... |

The thought of a few wins under our belt could do wonders for the youngin's confidence, not to mention the supporters belief, but to be honest i'd love to give every young player and rookies alike a good taste of football by playing as many as possible. Rest Kouta & Lappin perhaps and play people like Grigg & Joe Anderson. We all know what Acland can do in the ruck, so why not rotate Jacobs & 'The Ham'? Rest Fev & Give Aisakie a go up forward. Do not move Kennedy from CHF the entire game. Rest Stevens and play Ryan Jackson instead. Give the game-day captaincy to Marc Murphy. Trial a potentialy lethal back-line of Setanta/Thornton/Bower & use Walker and Waite to run it off CHB right through the corridor. Add an injection of class into the midfield and see how Grigg / Murphy / Simpson / Gibbs play off each other. I dunno........................i;d love to see all of the above but at the sametime i'd like us to win every possible game that we could. |

I think we will struggle to beat the Bombers BUT if we get past them, we could do well. I reckon they will play Ackland, Cloke, Bower, SO'Hailpin. Gibbs is certainty & maybe Grigg. Will be lucky to see any other newbies in the first match. Would LOVE to see Hampson & Joey at some point. |

Yes indeed you can. That's the one thing i love about the NAB Cup............you can play the rookies - and more importantly they get match payments! (Rookies, if you didn't know already, get paid peanuts for doing just as much work as fellow seniors. I'd love to give Aisakie a go..........just as a reward for all the hard effort he has put into the club. It would do wonders for the kids self-confidence! |

Carlton are at odds of 26-1 on Centrebet to win the NAB Cup. If we could get a dozen or so posters to chip in $10 each, we could win enough to sponsor another player. If there was enough interest I could organise it. I'll be putting a bet on anyway. Would mean a lot to the players to win this thing, so they'll be going for it. |

I am excited because I will be in Melbourne for the Blues v Bombers NAB cup game. So if you see a person at any of the members functions for the opening NAB game that … - Has a crown lager in each hand - Is wearing clothing that only just meets the NT dress code standards - Looks relieved because his Bomber supporting wife is not present - Orders a potato scallop with a serve of Barramundi - Looks similar too but is not as good looking as Deano Supremo - Is carrying bags full of Carlton shop gear - Is talking to Joey - Has not had an online debate with Synbad (yet) - Is crying (if we lose) - Is crying (if we win) - Is jumping in front of any TV cameras with a sign that says “Hullo Darwin†|
