This is nice little story that came out of a Blueseum project to try and find an autograph for some charity work: http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... eid=315352 Just shows that if you help out a fellow Blues supporter you never know what positive consequences might happen down the track. Even 40 years down the track. |

If anyone is interested in buying one of the photographs more details about them can be found here: http://www.labx.com.au/Footyprints.htm The money from their sale goes towards Carlton past players and in particular issues regarding their health as a result of playing football. The contact for this is the president of the AFL X-Men, Ron O'Dwyer, a lovely bloke and an ex-carlton player himself. He can be contacted via phone on 0417 576 078 or via email at office at aflxmen dot com dot au. |

If anything, the past five years have galvanised the Carlton community. We look out for each other more now than at any time in my memory. Great story Jars - it's great that we as fans can do something for the on-field troops that have given us so many happy memories over the years. |

Great work Jarusa. Tell me - exactly how are they raising funds out of this? Is there a way that the Blueseum can used to solicit donations of paraphernalia on behalf of the Club for it's own revenue raising purposes? M |

I cannot tell you exactly. Except to say that the AFL X-Men are a non-profit organisation whose primary goal is the health care of past players, inparticular those pre-1995. In terms of the Blueseum, I would hope the traffic and cache it has as a site once it is in the club's hands would allow it to offer itself for one of the 10-50k sponsorships for the club. Blueseum sponsored by ANZ sound OK? |

I'd hate for it to become a relic once it's handed over. |

There will be a team of us who will run the site and keep it updated with new information and new articles etc. I don't think the work will ever run out. ![]() |
