I was driving the kids today and a favourite in the darknavymobile is the album with all the the club songs. My 4 year old and 2 year old know all the songs inside out and back-to-front. There are also 2 Mike Brady songs at the beginning. One Day in September and Up There Cazaly. Anyway, I'm listening to the opening refrains of Cazaly , 'you work hard make a living yada yada yada...' and my 4 year old says " Daddy this is the song about Bentick." <insert sound of screeching tyres> I turned around and replied "I don't think so darling". To which insists " Yes it is Daddy, you know ....... 'up there and Adam'" Happy Fathers Day to all TC dads!!!! |

On leaving the Blues he was given a reason for the fact that he wasn't needed. Speaking to a journalist later he said that he'd forgotten what it was. "One minute it's there, the next I just can't put my finger on it." |

Cazaly was actually named "Champion of the Colony" in 1920 (which was the highest personal accolade awarded at the time prior to the Brownlow Medal which was introduced in 1924) - he then couldnt agree to terms with St. Kilda and wanted a clearance to Carlton (possibly under Greg Williams scenario where we wanted to make amends for our earlier mistake Oddly enough he played 99 senior games for St. Kilda and 99 Senior Games for South Melbourne for 198 VFL Games in total. |
