With ADL's injury, we must promote Setanta. Would much rather see Setanta and Bryan in the seniors than Digby and ADL. The senior experience would be invaluable for Setanta, and now's the ideal time. We have nothing to lose. Very impressed with Bryan - seems much more than a ruckman. Has all the attributes to hold down a KP forward and back post. Great debut.

Aggree!

DO IT NOW!

Setanta in the goal square and for a buck up ruckman if Bryan and French need it!

Hell, Prendagast should be dropped, maybe Sentanta can fill his shoes, and even if he does nothing and @#$%&! up every kick he gets it'll still be an inprovment over Prenda!

C'Mon Setanta..................! BRING HIM IN! - You know you want to.

Is it wrong that i...............actually, no. I don't! :D

Agree, Setanta is a much better option than Prenda. And more importantly Setanta will play a big part in the Blues resurgence. Need to give him some AFL game time. Setanta can take a big mark and kick goals and has pace.. A forward setup with Fev, Lance and Setanta should provide the Lions with a few problems. Bryan should rotate between ruck and CHB. His long bombs from CHB into the forward line could be very damaging.

I didnt think prenda was that bad on Saturday.. we have many more players who deserve to be dropped before him

I'd be happy with Carlos or J D Smith. Both have good cases for promotion. Probably Carlos deserves it on performance but I agree with others that I'd like to see how J D goes as an "inside midfielder".

...btw Prenda can't be dropped, he's in the "elite" "leadership group"

If that performance 'Wasn't Bad' i'd hate to see him have a shit game!

That attempt at goal was the worst kick i've seen in AFL! Total disgrace from somebody who is on $100k a year and is part of our leadership group! NO EXCUSES!

Lost all faith in him. If somebody can tell me one thing he has dne since kicking the supergoal in the Wizzard Cup GF then i'd like to hear it!

Prenda did a reasonable blanketing job on Goodes actually.

If Archie is an LTI you would think that the club would have to promote this guy otherwise the who thing would look like a bit of a publicity stunt at this fellers expense.

I have serious doubts about my club's future if we're pinning our hopes on Setanta. I mean I like a good fairytale story as much as the next guy, but this kid is not our salvation. Why don't we promote one of the other rookies who might one day form the nucleus of a great Carlton side?

I dont think people are 'pinning their hopes' on Setanta. Everyone knows though that a player like him is one important part of a solution for us.

I think people generally know that we have to try and address our problems by playing the type of players that will be a part of our next successful team.

We have multiple problems right now and we have to solve them by starting somewhere.

Setanta is one important part of that solution, but by no means a complete answer to our current situation.

When you meant rookies, did you mean guys on the rookie list or 'young' guys in general?

Going by recent Bullants games and who's on our rookie list, Setanta and JD Smith are the only 2 rookie listed players worthy of promotion to the senior list. In the case of JD Smith, he is a inside player like Luke Blackwell and probably behind Blackwell at this stage.

Setanta is the obvious choice to be promoted as he is a 3rd tall forward option to replace ADL and his form in the 2's warrants it. This has nothing to do with fairytale stuff, it is a the reality of ADL's injury and he is the logical replacement for ADL at this stage.

For a kid who has played footy for 18 mths, he is coming along very nicely. Have you actually seen any ants games this yr?

How long before a game do we have to identify that it is an LTI, and who we are promoting.

I'm just waiting for the thread "Promote Aisake O'hailpin" - especially after the U 18 Championships at the end of the month!

Promote Plemming....
He's been on the rookie list for 2 years...at the end of this year it's either on the list or out.
Might as well give him a shot....at least you'll then know...otherwise the two years on the rookie list are effectively wasted

This bloke has the size speed and skill that Smith Plemming Batson and Becker do not. He commands the pill.

Good call budzy - most are saying promote Setanta again, but Jessie has done absolutely nothing wrong ever since he's set foot at the Club and is probably staking his claim moreso than Russell, Blackwell, etc. at the moment. Be brave Denis - you know what you have to do!!!

Has Setanta already been re-promoted :? According to the link below he is currently listed as an elevated Rookie (E). This site is updated almost daily, check it out!

Has he been repromoted yet? Surely ADL will be on the LTI. We've really got to play Setanta in the seniors now - we've got nothing to lose, apart from a few draft picks.

Yep I agree Bill. Pleming is out or promoted at the end of the year so why not give him a run...can't do any worse can we?

From the few times I've seen him play he's got a bit of courage, takes a good mark and his kicking isn't too bad although I think 50 is his range.

I think we should give Pleming a run.

Pleming 'gets a run' each week in the 2's and hasn't grabbed those games by the scruff of the neck at all.....

No promotion for Pleming, 2 years on the rookie list to no avail.
