Because I am feeling charitable after watching a hapless shell of a Carlton team last night, I will allow everyone who is now NOT so confident of Simon Wiggins being retained by CFC in 2006, to speak up and withdraw from the bet and not owe me any beers.

By the way, anyone here STILL think he will be retained?

haha, I was actually going to drag this one back out of Socials.

I thought you might be feeling a little more confident.

Not sure how Wiggo is going in the Bullie's, but I'm still confident he'll be here next year, bet's still on

I'll still be getting my beer, Elroy.

Wiggins will be retained.

I still think he will be retained. Hence i'm still up for the beer bet.

I appreciate where you are going with this but seriously the queue out the door might/is very long, i just belive Wiggins in on the tail end of it. Hence saved !

Time will tell Elroy ! :D

Is there a difference between:

1/ should he be retained

2/ will he be retained

There is a better than even money bet that he will be retained as we don't have the luxury of turning over so many at once.

However, is his skill sets and courage enough too take us into a competitive team?????

I don't think so.

No Elroy, I'm still in this bet. Wiggins will be at the blues next year & I'll be at the bar.

Which game were you watching Elroy - Wiggo was being rested in the reserves this week - looks like he could be going to Darwin next week. He needed a rest and some game time as he keeps knocking himself out in the firsts as it appears that he has found some touch.

So, my friends, even after 3 encouraging performances against Freo, and then the very good win over Richmond, all with a Wiggins-less team, is Denis still going to recall Simon to the seniors and give him a chance to prove his worth for 2006?

He has been playing well in the VFL, I grudgingly note

I don't think it's outlandish to suggest that Simon needs to play his best ever game in the seniors in the last few rounds (should he get the chance) in order to save his head from the chopping block.

It would be safe to assume that if he is not selected again in the seniors this season, he is a definite goner, and whilst those may who post to the contrary will do so simply to goad me, I know that all of TC's "realists" will accept that, too.

I think the team setup we find ourselves with currently (featuring Simpson and Carrazzo in the midfield, where many of us have been crying out for ages for them to get a run) is starting to look OK.

I don't know if we require what Simon can bring to the team, which is..well......I'll get back to you on that!

So, whilst I'm off my medication (temporarily, my psychiatrist assures me), I will again offer an olive branch to those who care to withdraw from their ill placed bet, whereby, if Squire Wiggins is cut from the list, I am owed a free beer by all who took the bait (ahem........I mean bet).

I will collect on this bet.

Elroy will be revealed*.

*(Hint - I'm Karl Norman's Dealer)

Wiggo's been great for the ants however I'd be surprised but not unhappy if he was retained.

There's plenty of others that will be cut before Wiggins. The club will keep him till at least the end of his contract (2006?).

You sound like a worried man Elroy. Start saving up!!

I think he will stay and get to play out his contract as suggested until the end of next season....one of his problems has been the success of Carrazzo who for mine has essentially take Wiggos spot down back.
Been surprised Wiggo hasnt been able to get a senior game as his Bullants form has been ok...hope that isnt a omen about his future as Karl Norman seems in a similar position.. and most have written Karl off as gone..
