The Sporn incident was pretty innocuous but they have been cracking down pretty hard on players this year.Davies looks like he'll have to front the tribunal with a nice tap to Aker's head and may cause the club to finally lose patience. The most worrying was Kouta's poleaxing the umpire after Voss pushed him into the maggot and we all know how they treat Carlton champs in this regard. ![]() On the plus side it means Russell might debut and all the experts criticising his selection can finally be proven wrong. |

What needs to happen here is Voss should be reported for unduly rough play, in that he intentional pushed Kouta into the umpire, hoping to hurt the umpire. ![]() ![]() If this doesn't get thrown out along with the other two incidents then finally the AFL are helping us out, and they too want us to get the PP's season end. The more players we don't have available the greater the liklihood we will continue to lose. Payback in a round a bout way ![]() ![]() |

Sporn's charge was there, but soft. Davies' tap was accidental. Kouta's was as a result of Voss combined with perhaps a little clumsiness. I've seen far worse incidents ignored. If any of these players (particularly Davies and Kouta) get rubbed out I will be furious. ![]() |

They will all get off. But knowing the AFL, they will all be suspended. |

Common sense will prevail.....oh shit, its the tribunal we are taking about. Sporn, Davies doesn't matter if they go, but the Kouta one is a joke, even if he gets fined... |

If Davies goes for that then the AFL will have to retrospectively suspend the following players: 1) matthew lloyd - for at least 3 incidents earlier in the season where he actually caused damage to players by chopping them to the head. 2) solomon - for the hit on teague that was deemed accidental - of course. that is bu*lsh*t - if davies goes - that is the last straw for me. He was looking in the air and nowhere near akermanis's face. I will be writing to the tribunal every day of the year if davies goes... I will let them know in no uncertain terms that we aren't playing basketball or soccer. Get a grip. |

Is Kouta being looked at for that? If he gets so much as a fine I'll be more than a little pissed off. a. Voss pushed him. b. The umpire fell on top of the ball meaning he was in the wrong spot to begin with. |

a. Voss pushed him. b. The umpire fell on top of the ball meaning he was in the wrong spot to begin with. Kouta ripped the ball out from under the Umpire...did that get counted as a hrd ball get? ![]() All three incidents should be thrown out....Sporn's is the only one that's line ball, but the Brissy player didn't flinch which sorta looks as though he got into his side a bit more than front on.....still he should've been looking at the ball...the only concern. A free kick YES, a fifty ...well in the contec=xt of the other BULLSHIT 50's almost certainly! (BTW, why wasn't it a fifty when the player ran between Lappin and the mark???? |

Has Kouta ever been reported before? If so, has he ever been suspended? I can't think of a time that he has?! |

There was a similar incident to Davies' in the 2nd quarter of today's game where Brad Green got Clement in the face with an open hand. This one was worse because Clement was the man that Green was going for, whereas Aker wasn't the man Davies was going for, the ball just bounced in his direction. I'll be damned if Green doesn't at least get reported like Davies. |

Just heard 3 players charged but no mention of any of the above. Think they all got off. |

No case to answer with Sporn's collision deemed inevitable,Davies was made with an open hand and Kouta's accidental. ![]() ![]() |

All 3 Carlton players cleared and players warned about pushing other players into umpires Carlton utility Trent Sporn, reported on Saturday night for charging Brisbane's Daniel Merrett, will not have a case to answer after the panel deemed that he was committed to the contest and the contact was inevitable. Teammate Justin Davies' clash with Lion Jason Akermanis was also reviewed but the panel viewed that the contact made by Davies was minimal and made with an open hand in an attempt to hit the ball. Carlton skipper Anthony Koutoufides' collision with umpire Adam Davis during the fourth quarter was deemed accidental and the result of Lion Michael Voss pushing him into Davis' path. The panel decided that no action would be taken against Voss but warned all players that a repeat of this conduct may result in a charge being laid against the player who causes the contact. |
