Sometimes when watching the blues play you really have to feel sorry for matthew lappin he always puts his heart in to to it, trys his hardest and more often than not plays brilliantly. I know the same could be said about kouta and campo but they have won a premiership with the club and therefore owe the club something it that sensebut a flag is something than matt will more than likely ever achieve through no fault of his own.

It really is disheartning to see fev even though one of my favourites at the club and a genuine superstar drop his head and showing no interest at what denis was saying at 3/4 time on saturday night. Having said that i would have to agree that he did seem a bit down about the obvious injury or soreness he was carrying and it was great to see him run down a player and lay a tackle in the first quarter.

I think that it should be lappin on the big contracts along with kouta he is the clubs most consistant performer and has great work rate. I think that the carlton football club should not trade any players for already established players because it would have to be a core player that we would have to trade. If we were to trade anyone it should be for early draft picks and the club should get rid of a lot of semi-established players and concentrate on building a young promising player around the core group of Kouta, Lappin, Lance, 1AW, T-bird, houlahan, waite, barnaby and try and find more eddie betts gems in the draft. Carlton in the last few years have gone in to the draft early once and got 1AW out of it and he after sat night has shown what a great player he is. We need to use the draft to rebuild the club.

Welcome to TC mightyblues_luke.

I agree. Skinny Lappin gives his all almost every week and given his light frame he really does deserve credit and respect for all he has done at the blues.
As far as leadership goes I really think it's time that some of the younger players step up and take some responsibilty and stop looking for the older players to hold their hand.

...btw IMO Lappin was very stiff not to win the B&F last year.

He or Stevens couldn't! They probably have performance based contracts, and it would have cost the blues too much!
