For those of you that watched the game there was very troubling signs before the ball was even bounced. i looked at the werstern bulldogs team, run out and more then half of them had gloves on also sweat bans on there wrists. When the Carlton team ran out not one them had a glove on. I am not a big fan of gloves but the team is playing on foreign ground 27 degrees at night and over 80 percent humidity doesn’t matter what kind of athlete you are, you are going to sweet more then normal. The amount of dropped catches that i saw was very frustrating. Even the bulldog’s ruckman Street was handling the ball ok with his sweat ban on. Even if it helped him a bit. What I’m worried about is that we all new the heat would be a factor, but what did the coaching staff and doctors have in place to combat this. The bulldog team seemed more prepared for playing in the darwin heat then us. |

Besides the gloves and sweatbands, what else did the Bulldogs do that prepared them better? Please explain. In fact Cooney was interviewed after the game and virtually conceded that the gloves and sweatbands did sweet f.a. What about this for a reason why we lost: WE ARE SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH. |

Im sick of that excuse are you sure you name isnt Dennis. At the start of the year most people in here rated our side better then Western bulldogs. The excuse of not being good eniough is a cope out. We only have a couple of injuries compared to bulldogs who had a few very good players out also. |

Ok Blueboy you have beat me into submission. We lost because we did not wear gloves, and sweatbands and what ever else the Bulldogs did to prepare for the hot steamy conditions in Darwin. Can you just tell us in advance what prepartion is required when we tackle the Eagles in a couple of weeks time? Most people in here thought we were on par with them at the start of the year. |

They've played there before. We haven't. |

Carlton were prepared, but the Bulldogs are a much better side. They have a good group of young players, some tireless old heads, and most of all the players respect the coach. Carlton has none of the above. The dogs should have won by even more. |

Let's face it, gloves or no gloves we would have lost last night anyway. What I was worried about is that about 16 weeks ago we beat virtually the same Bulldogs side by close to 10 goals... ![]() |
