seems to be two belief systems.

Either Pagan cannot coach on a saturday (even though he won two of the biggest saturdays - oh and of course they said the same about haffey , who won 4 such saturdays, including 2 against carlton) and has lost the players - how? Demanding they run, they chase, they tackle, they @#$%&! train for @#$%&!'s sake!

or

the system demands we do not win if we wish to get better. So you make strange decisions as a match committee, so you do not really jig them up, so you let players who are slack remain slack if you have decided these are not the players for the future.

The third alternative of course is that Denis is coaching as well as he can, the players are playing as well as they can and we are really, really in ther shit.

[REDACTED] if I know what's going on but I remember the whizzfizz and that side was coached by a bloke who knew what he was doing, who had them all so banged fired up they'd run through a brick wall and who covered the deficiencies in this list brilliantly.

to me it really come back to the age old Carlton problem - this side lacks hard running defensively and offensively

add to it a propensity to stand still with the ball like a rabbit in headlights until all options vanish

and the most unaccountable midfield in Carlton's history

and well

I've taken to reading the bible - I've heard it all turns out wellin the end...What are others doing for their winters?

The Ashes series.

Maybe go to the snow once or twice.

Log onto the recruiting and Bullants forums.

Go to the footy, but not have my heart in it.

Spend more time with the kids.

Drink good, oldish wine with slow-cooked food.

Make loads of bolognaise and osso bucco. Cook fat little pork sausages slowly in a pan and have them with good bread and mustard.

Read some of the books I've been buying but not reading.

Drink Guinness.

Spending a heap of time with the kids.

Following the ISSF world cups (its in Milan at the moment) and getting stuck into my own shooting training.

Prelim organisation of our new house construction.

Renovations and landscaping of our current house.

read through endless recruiting threads....(trade week is my favourite part of the year)

kick the footy in my back yard and pretend im eddie betts...

throw rocks at the kids sitting on my fence watching me starring as eddie betts...

remember the old days when i never knew what losing was..

think about collingwoods 1 premiership in 47 years  ...

concentrate on school...

watch west coast in disbelief that we beat them...

think about the days when the afl wasnt run by an absolute dick..

watch my brother playing junior footy...

play with my dog in the backyard....

look forward to the national under 18 championships next weekend...

Beats continually thinking about the mire the Blues have found themselves in at the moment.

With all due respect, and this won't go down too well and I don't know how serious every poster is, but anyone who thinks about not going to the footy because Carlton aren't performing, and will only sing when this club is winning, well, do we really need supporters like that on board?

I'll go to the games.
But my focus won't be so much on the score board.
It'll be on the younger blokes like Walker, Betts, Thornton, Waite etc and they fare each week.

I would've started watching the Melbourne Storm, but even they can't crack it for a win lately  .....now where's that stamp collection that's been collecting dust.......

Btw, I'll still go and watch.....only 'cos it's a habit and I've got a primo reserved seat I might as well get use out of.....

Here's hoping.

I've done my dash with TAC, so I might make a move to the VFL some time in the next two years.
Will get my coaches opinion first before I do anything drastic.

Have no fear, Maximillion, I will be at the St.Kilda game.

thing is Dannyboy ...... the system does NOT allow you to cheat the AFL .... BUT .... it does allow you to cheat your supporters (and football public).

The sooner people realise is that you can work within the system .. the way the system allows you the quicker you can turn things around.
Dont want to work within the system the way the system works???

Well you can complain about the system but youre going to be shit!!!!!
Its all about who can work the system and use it to their advantage not who can complain loudest, longest...
