I know Carlton has always been a mostly "in house" club when it comes to PR but the snippets on the news tonight of FEV saying about three words in a "prepared" statement about his contract renewell and Lappin rudely ignoring the question on whether he's happy about Fev re-signing really was pretty poor and further leads me to believe the rumours of player unrest.
In these dark days the club really must focus on the few positive things that happen and really promote them.
Hoping for Fev to be on the front foot tonight on the footy show and put to rest some of these rumours.

Isn't the footy show in London tonight?

Yep, it looked terrible on the news.

At least skinny was signing autographs for some kids.

Fev just walked away from the media when asked a question after giving a straight up and down answer.

Like our boys out on the park at the moment, it was very poor form.

Lappin has been great for the Blues, but seriously who in ther right mind would offer a 3 year contract to a 29 year old?

Come to your senses Skinny, its about the jumper, not your retirement fund. If you perform over two years you will get another contract, so just sign up.

I watched the Channel 10 news, the Channel 7 news and the ABC news.
Two stations decided to potray the news as a positive story, one station decided to potray it as a negative story.

They decide what you see, you base your opinion on what you see. The media is evil and do what suits their ratings. That journo potrayed the story in that fashion to get the response they got from you two.

Wisen up.

Fev was short on his response to the news crews because of his obligations to The Footy Show.

TFS advertised an "exclusive" interview with Fev for last night's show, and it would hardly be an "exclusive" if Fev gabbed on with the reporters earlier.

Ahh...okay then I didn't SEE Lappin ignore the question re Fevs' re-signing and I didn't SEE Fev turn his back on the assembled journo's after saying about three words. I'm sorry I keep forgetting that everythings bright and rosey at Princes Park these days. Silly me

The 'exclusive' interview on TFS was not exactly Pullitzer prize journalism. His TFS interview was possibly 10 seconds longer than the news footage of him running away from the cameras.

I am happy with fev re-signing and my little bloke worships the ground that fev walks on, but if you are going to be the new 'face of Carlton', then you have to develop a bit of a rapport with the journos.

I hope Fev will be there to sign a few autographs at the Jnr Member's day, my boy was gutted last year when neither Fev or Kouta came out to sign a few autographs.

Budzy,

You are just reinforcing my point. Channel 7 chose to run the story in that fashion, Sandy Roberts headlined the sport by saying that Fev had signed but not every one at Carlton was happy. They showed the footage of Fev and Lance and then the person who is not happy .... it is Lappin because he did not comment.
You said silly me not me. Seriously wisen up.

The ABC and Channel 10 decided to run the story as a positive news story.

If Fev and Lappo had've given decent responses there would'nt have been a negative story for CH7 to run would there???
