If we do finish 9th and end up making the finals, our board should make a call and forfeit the game.

Its insulting to us as a club to accept a condecending gesture from the AFL.

I know we wont do it but we should.

Get there on your own merits or dont bother at all.

For the longest time it wouldn't have bothered me in the slightest to play finals at the Bombers expense.

Right now though I don't think we deserve to play finals and I don't want us too.

I'm sure this will pass though if we do happen to get there :lol:

Playing finals this year wouldn't feel the same as making them on your own accord but I think we'd be stupid to give up the opportunity to give some of our young players a chance to experience finals football. If anything give them a taste of what can be achieved in future with hard work and an endeavour to achieve great things as a team.

I dont care how we get in there, as long as we get in there. If its at Essendons expense so much better. The fact that it would tick off Richmond supporters who have come ninth for years with no reward is icing on the cake.

Now that I've calmed down a bit I've warmed somewhat to playing in September for 2 reasons:

1) It would be good experience for youngsters like Menz, Graham and co, especially if playing Rich or Coll
2) We're there and @#$%&! Essendon* aren't!

That said, if Norf earn the right to jump over us, they're welcome to the spot and good luck to them.

The care factor for us playing or not is minute - the team [except Simmo] lost any chance of earning the right to play in September by playing like a bunch of wankers on Saturday night.

I'm still pissed off, so the anger hasn't subsided.
