Riewoldt, Harvey and Hamill all out.

As one TCer pointed out to me last weekend, to shut the Saints down you just have to continually harass and crunch Luke Ball all day, as he is probably their main man in the middle.

Thoughts on how you think we are going to be able to beat them...

Start playing Monday.......

Play hard, accountable, man-on-man footy and be physical, in their face, and not let up all day. The Saints have shown they can't deal with that sort of attention all day. The score will take care of itself as they will continually make mistakes and give the ball up under physical attention.

....by kicking goals and stopping their danger midfielders from winning clearances. With French back our ruck department should shit on theirs...its all about our ruckmen communicating with our midfielders...theres no point contesting the ruck if the midfielders dont work off of him....

If kicking into forward 50 is on Fev should have a day out...the saints weakest department is clearly their defence, and we have to take advantage of that to win...but we probably wont win cause these things wont happen

If we play like we did in the first half yesterday over four quarters then we'll win...unfortunately that's unlikely to happen.

We have to play hard, tough committed footy like we should be doing every week. It's the only way for us. Forget talent if we go in hard enough and with real intensity then we're a chance.

Kosi will be the obvious dangerman and with Riewoldt out Thorton looks likely to get him and Livo gets Gehrig. The one that I can see killing us is Stevie Milne who is due a bag and small forwards always kill us.

Their midfield is class and has great skills but is not very quick. They rotate players like Thompson, Powell etc who aren't speedy and Hayes, Ball etc are good users and very composed but won't burn us off. This will help us.

I think Carrazzo probably or Bowyer. They're the only two options. But then they'll have Guerra as well probably on a flank so Bowyer would get one and Carrazzo the other.

Bowyer will be too slow for Milne.

I suggest Carrazzo on Milne and Bowyer on Guerra.

We don't have anyone to derail the G Train and big enough to stop Kosi. And that's where the game will be won by the Saints with their midfield providing more than enough opportunities.

Perhaps if Barney is fit, play him in the ruck and Bryan on Kosi?
As well as having both Barney and Bear rotating through the ruck and onto Kosi.

Gtrain is most likely going to get derailed by the tribunal this week. Bondy on 3AW reckons he will get 2 weeks.

To win we need to make some changes. I have just watched the saints play and if they perform next week like today they will beat us no problems. We need to set up a decent defence somehow.

Bowyer, Sporn, Prenda, Chambers, Longmuir all out.

French, Morrell, Norman, Davies, Betts or Bentick in.

why would be want to win ?

Hawthorn won't win - which will lift us off the bottom and out of pick 1 position.

Think logically people

I went to the saints game today and they are the biggest pretenders gracing our game. The dogs drew level in the last qtr after being down by 5 goals at 3 qtr time and given a little more experience, they would have and should have won.

The best 7-8 saints players are good, the rest are duds. Check out these household names from the saints 22 today:

Penny - dud
Powell - dud. The worst kick of a football since Richmonds Michael Laffy
Thomson - average at best
Peckett - as above
McGough - what were they thinking, quite possibly the slowest player to ever play the game of AFL
guerra - did SFA, basically a one trick pony (the charge), actually no, he's a dud
Ackland - average, Barney should murder him
Baker - average, pseudo tough guy (in his defence, the only tough player they have with Hammill)
Goddard - good at times then seems to have brain freezes. Lets not recruit him

I'm sure there's a couple more.

They are crap, ripe for the picking with injuries etc and owe them for last yrs debacle. Their supporters also seem to possess an unnecessary smugness and over inflated opinion of their zero acheivements

They shit me, I would love to beat them and really stuff up their top 8 ambitions. But why o why does the PP not make it so simple?

Leave it alone......I'm so glad you are revelling in our losses.

I did revell in yesterdays loss.

Because i was there and got to witness the future - which was our first half effort. I also got to abuse West Coast supporters (the idiots they are)

Anyways its about the long term and i take more joy out of watching Walker , Waite , Carazzo etc develop than watching meaningless wins which will get us nowhere for years to come.

We have a very good plan in place at the moment but too few can see it or appreciate it. We are going to be very very good in a few years time and all this heartache will be forgotten.

Be patient !!

Oh it was so awesome yesterday to be part of the "woof" cry. It's made it all the way to the west coast !!

Go Blues !
