IMO Bryan has more to offer than than Prenda as a back up ruck to French and with Batson doubtful to be promoted to the senior list and our desperate need for top quality midfield draftees, Bryan deserves a contract extension.
No doubt he needs to work on his ruckwork and fitness but his effort over the last few weeks has been better than most.
One of the few highlights this year.

Couldn't agree more Budzy -but I guess extensions are not going to be offered in a hurry to players at the moment....
However, If the club don't keep him around, then they're crazy - this guy gets us more positive mentions than most of the team at the moment!

agree, what an excellent pick up at 72 (???) you cant ask for more from a player who has finally got his chance to prove himself...

I'm a fan of Bryans..has plenty of natural ability which is important...some players only just go in the ressies but lift for senior footy and I think Bryan is one of them. He can look a bit laconic but has that happy knack of finding the footy...gave Cox a run for his money and wasnt disgraced at all unlike some of his teammates....Prenda is a honest trier but talent wise isnt anywhere near Bryan...
Should get a 2 year contract easily....providing those in charge can see what everyone else can..even a biased dimwit like Peter Wilson praised Bryan when calling the game for Foxtel...

Where does Bryan's emergence leave one A.Deluca another late draft pick who burst onto the scene.

Could Bryan fade away next year like Deluca has this year?

What to do , What to do ............????

Well i prob think that Bryan has shown enough to give hime an extension .... Then it would be a choice between Archie and Prender and i think from what i have seen Archie is goin to offer more than Prender..

Prenders been on the list for a long time and hasnt stepped up or shown that next step yer he does some good thing once in a blue moon but i have given up on him i would prefer to see

French - Key Ruck
Bryan - Back up Ruck ... Play back or forward
Deluca - Back up alternative Ruck play forward
Santanta - Groomed for Ruck and forward play over the next couple of years

Prender - dunno just dosnt do anything these days meant to be a bitsa player with a big tank ... but what bits he does dosnt seem to be very much

If ADL survives the cut he should work on his strength and play KP with the Bullants and learn how to take one grab marks.

Bryans a better ruck than adl and is prolly more mobile....a follower if you will.

ADL needs to get bigger and play the same role as Lade does with Port. Be an option up forward when he has a suitable opponent and when he gets a good defender on him lead away from the ball and drag his player away. Do the ruckwork in the forward line. If he cant do that he is not going to make it.

To slow. Bryan is a possible CHB with his mibility and kicking skills.
Lets see what Pagan does next week with French and Bryan together. I really hope (not trying to be mean) that when they take the boot of ADL that they can put him on the LT injured list and we can promote Setanta. Want to have a good look at him.
I feel his best position would be CHB where his opponent can lead him to the ball and he can learn the game that way for a few years. His attitude and athleticsm would be his assets.

I reckon Bryan makes a better defender we have enough fwd options with Fev / Lance if he survives / Betts crumber / Fisher when he returns / Archie if he can step up prob a few others ....

But for the Backline Bryan best kicker with his long kicks out of Full back .. also his height and he is a bit quicker than i thought. When French comes in then Hopefully Bryan can be used in the backline or Fwd line if we mix things up

From what i have seen Santanta and Deluca are better prospects to play forward than back

Agree with that. Archie has looked way out of his depth in defence, but, IMO, has shown enough in the forward line, if nothing else for his marking ability.

I'd also like to see how Bryan could go as a defender.

Well im sure Bryan will get an extension.
He has shown enough ... there is a big line to the exit door before we get to Bryan.
As for Prenda he isnt a ruckman so dont judge him as a ruckman .. he is having his game sacrificed by playing there. Hes a run with player who has great endurance and some meatheadedness for pack breaking.
Deluca should not be delisted .. are you guys for real?
Hes had an injury interrupted season...

Deluca is the last of our concerns. As Synbad said, many others lead the way to the exit door, and no way is that Archie. ADL is a top bloke and will be kept in 2006.

Bryan is looking the goods in a Carlton jumper.

nah i agree synbad Deluca need to be retained but Prender the writing is on the wall he just dosnt seem to do enough ... Yes he is not a back up ruckman but he dosnt do much with a run with role i just think he may have run out of time

I am tending to agree. I love Prenda, but he is not really offering us much at the moment. He still has 8 weeks to prove us wrong, but it not looking good for him. :?

Prenda with his size should be our enforcer - the man around the packs that sheperds , bumps , tackles and hits people .

Should always be on the bottom of the pack and handballing out.

Might be a trade sweetener for a club that could use him this way.

Oh, but back on the topic. Bryan does deserve a contract extension on what he has shown so far, but it has only been 4 games. Let's wait until the end of the season before sizing everyone up once and for all.
