Let's see 20 lousy kicks in the third term would it not constitute a strike - the last in Rd 22 2003. No you say, what about the fact that the opposition were allowed to waltz their way to 15 consecutive goals unimpeded? Funny thing is that none of these players have paid their dues ![]() |

You are talking the top team against the bottom team. We are at the bottom for a reason. While it was promising in the first half we are just not good enough to play that way for a whole game. And then you look at West Coast... |

Such was the change in fortunes from second half comapred to the first half I can understand where Rod is coming from. ![]() |

Haven't you heard - with Howard controlling the senate strikes are illegal. |

The culprit was Johnston/Fev missing that goal in the first seconds of the third quarter, then WC getting a goal instead, 30 seconds later. Our players are mentally fragile, and that turnaround shattered them. |

Unfortunately we are getting a taste of our own medicine back. How many times did I see Carlton sides of the 70s and 80s allow sides a snif in the first half only to crush them in the 3rd quarter. We need to work through this quickly!! |

If they were striking, then why did they bother playing well in the 1st half? |

Personally I don't subscribe to the theory, but the contrast from one half to the other was so great a strike is a plausible explanation, I just don't think it's the correct one. Mind, I don't have an explanation for why I think we were so good and then so poor either! ![]() |

I haven't seen the game yet other than periods of the 4th quarter, but I think the Eagles probably turned up their game and we just couldn't go with them and once they got a run on we probably lost confidence and started playing dumb. Does that sound right to anyone who saw the game? |

The early turnaround from the missed goal did hurt - you could see the heads drop. Also i think Daniel Chick had a huge part to play he went down forward and stirred shit up again our fragility couldn't cope and the downward slide just continued. The second half score was something like 95 - 8. The third quarter by the eagles was the highest quarter ever by any team at subiaco. |

That first 5 minutes of the third term just killed their spirit. You could see them coming out at the start of the game determined to erase the first half of the season, but when they surrendered the lead so quickly I dare say all those psychological scars came home to roost. Remember the Brisbane game at Optus 2 years ago? We were leading by 5 goals with about 5 minues to go in the first half, Brisbane got a few quick ones and all of a sudden were in striking distance. The champs got a sniff, and we lost our nerve. Same thing happened on Saturday. |

I like to know how the f*** our players have become so fragile. It hasn't occurred overnight either, this has been since 2002. ![]() 2002....four years, two coaches, endless trades, draft picks, assitant coaches and they still sink quicker than the titanic when pressure is applied. The very reason why I hate negative talk coming out of people in control of our footy club. ![]() |

Hmm, perhaps most of the recycled players we've picked up were discarded not because of talent or application but because of lack of mental toughness? |
