Hit the nail on the head, did 'Sellars'

Quote:
"I think there are some really deep-seated issues here, and until they arrest those and get the culture back to a hardworking and selfless society, rather than a 'what can the club do for me' (attitude), they won't move forward,"

Memo to Campo, Lappin, Lance, et al

Quote:
"To go forward they need to change their culture. I see them as floundering . . . and their performance has been below what we as supporters and they would expect. But they have no problem putting their hand out for more cash.

Another message to Campo, Lappin, Lance, et al

Quote:
"I think when you've got players of 30 years of age asking for three-year contracts you've got to be kidding. They're kidding themselves," Maclure said.

"They're not doing the best thing by the footy club, they've had a pretty good run those guys."

The problem with Carlton supporters is there is too much 'Hero Worship' going on....

The problem is there are no heros to worship.
Time for the slaughterhouse with those that dont want to do at the club needs to be done.

Im sure in time we will have the players once again that befit the great club... keeping and developing some of those we have with some newies we will draft.

But just now.. we have players that dont understand their position in the greater scheme of things and theyre deluding themselves by thinking just because they have been at the club for 10 years the club must keep them or the club has no experience.

Were at the bottom ... so it doesnt matter!!!!...
These players have had time o show us that theyre capable of being worth the money we pay them.

I liked this bit...Couldn't agree more...

Quote:
"The list is the most important thing that the football club can fix. You can get the best coach in the world, but he can't turn boiled lollies into chocolates."

Pagan cant be expected to turn crap into candy...It just doesn't happen...Give him something to work with and he'll do a better job...

Hmm wonder if there is a assistant coach/forward coach somewhere in that news article. Will he bring back some the culture? Maclure wasnt a Carey but like Spalding he did everything in his power to make himself a potent CHF. Maclure sees the real picture and hopefully other blokes of his ilk come forward and have a say ie Buzza, Jezza, Secco, SOS.

Playing list and assistant coaches all need to be be looked at we have a part time ruck coach, a part time forward coach, a dirty lil mongrel thats supposed to teach the guys how to tackle and look how insipid they are. Get a olympic sprint coach in there improve our running styles, get a Laszarus in there and show em how to tackle and take the breath outta the opponent.

Where to from here?

To the national draft with picks 1 & 3. We need to draft Marc Murphy to start to develop some midfield class. If he goes to Brisbane under the father son or we finish 15th and he goes to Hawthorn, the season is a waste.

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we need to win 5 1/2 games and not win the wooden spoon.
We have leaders and a fatastic red headed CHF..
I dont want to hear about winning the wooden spoon. Wooden spoon is for losers like StKilda......

Listen!!!!
StKilda missed some of their most important players and tore us a new one.
StKilda were missing a player who many think is the best CHF in the game but their stand in CHF killed us.
We need elite talent... or we will be a shit club for a long, long, long, long time.

Get rid of the deadwood. Find out who want to play and who doesnt and start again.

This bullshit about Campo and Lance are guns and fantastic leaders must stop!!!!
If Lappin or anyone else doesnt want to play they can get lost.

No more Mr nice guy.

This club has never been so low .. and its this lot of players who have dragged us this low.....!!!!!!!!

If we win that game i will be ropable!!!!!!!!

I know some people will dust off their little blue scarves and wear their navy jumpers with number 8 on the back...or maybe 16 with the badges .. all excited because its a chance to win a game of footy.... so they can feel all nice and fuzzy inside .. for a week...

........... but i will SPEW if we win that game!!!!!

Sellers was a player who made the most of his talent, a hard working (probably undersized CHF at 188cm) who held the key position through 3 Premierships (79, 81, 82) and who was rewarded with the captaincy of the club - very underated student of the game as well - calls it as it is without Robert Walls nastiness, whom he actually replaced at CHF.

We could do worse than have him on the Match Committee.

PS. I will spew as well - I had my money on the Hawks today as well  . Picks 1 & 2 gives adds a whole new dimension and will help erase the pain of Black Friday. Wont erase it completely mind you

Memo we will not win another match until the Dawks do if we win a match before the dawks you can garantee they will not win to get in front of us it is pitable that we have to be in this position but its reality at this stage of the club

There is lost going on behind the scenes dosnt make things right or better but we cannot win more games than the Dawks end of story

Oh im sure were trying to win games Wolfe.

Careers are on the line...
The Dawks on the other hand might not be trying but they have around 3 All Australian players in that team.. plus some gun kids. .. plus a priority pick this year......

... plus they dont play their surplus players. (Holland and Barker) we play ours... cos we want to win and we still cant win...

Worst list in the AFL.... and some people dont think we NEED early picks...

Lets go down the Geelong model eh???

Like ive been saying our finals will begin at the end of the home and away and finals.. and go through to the pre season draft.

I just hope Denis sharpens the knife real good and gets rid of the bludgers who only play for money...

Life is comfortable for some of them....

Where to from here?
The draft.
Picks 1 and 3...Murphy and one of Ellis or maybe even Drum.

This sounds really bad, but we can't afford to win another game for the rest of the year.
Today, for me, it was all about watching Walker, Russell, Waite, Thornton, Carrots and Livo.
I don't care about the result anymore.

As I heard one person say a few weeks back...if we screw up this draft, we are stuffed.

We have to get it right.
