While we are all feeling pissed off about footy, let's take some time out to reflect on the great man's Carlton years, when he owned Optus Oval & defied logic with his hands & feet.

I remember a lovely in board pass he delivered to Steve Kernahan in the final qtr of the 93 QF against Ess.

That & a zillion other Williams memories.

I can only imagine what the Diesel must think watching the current crop go around. If he were still out there I reckon half our list would have more to worry about from him than they would from the opposition.

Best player I think I have ever seen.

I remember a handball to Spalding can't remember which year, can't remember which ground, can't remember the opposition, but it went about 20m, through traffic and hit the Duke right on the chest and I thought that was amazing. I was right too :D

I remember that song he put out about never missing your water or something. I didn't quite understand it but it was catchy.

Absolute legend! you reminded me of one of my favourite Diesel goals in 1993, round 3 against the dawks. Ball gets kicked to Kernahan about 45m out at the Lygon St end. His marking attempt is spoiled by Langford, spillage is picked up by Diesel. Dodges 2 players (Ben Allan was one) gets on the left foot and BANG, goals from 45m out!!!

I'll always remember Drew Morphett's call - "Williams gathers the ball ... dodges and weaves ... left foot kick ... GOAL!!!!" and the crowd erupts! He was simply breathtaking in 1993.

And Big Earl slotted it through for a goal. Then during the same game was 10 meters out directly in front and sprayed it.

I loved Earl had character . Always put his body on the line !!

How was that goal in the '95 GF when he was sat on by (name of defender escapes me) crawled out in the square and kicked 1 of 5 to lock up the NS medal :D .

I will always remember him on hands and knees in packs wacking the ball out of oppositions hands, then collecting it and delivering onto the chest of Braddles running by (take note Campo). What an amazing ability to get the contested nut.

PeterDean and Tommy Alvin always had me in awe for their courage. Not in the same league for class as the guys you mentioned.

Almost the worst thing we can do is think about the past :(

Watch the 95 GF after the Eagles game last week, made me feel better. Loved Peter Dean, gee he took some angry pills that day. :D

Greatest certainty in the world was that Dean would make it to the GF after being ironed by by Schwass in the Prelim.

Remember the goal kicking comp the defenders had that season?

I remember them lining up in the second game Vs Collingwood :D

Dean and Ange would have won, from memory maybe kicked 10-13 goasl each ???
