...against the famous old dark blues.

Well seriously, the losing I'm learning to take. Not enjoy yet Synbad, just learning to take.

But what I cannot @#$%&! deal with is that not a single team we've played this year will have walked off the ground knowing that they've been playing against the famous old dark blues.

There's no body slamming tackles, bone shaking collisions, strong pack marking, fearless chasing, ferocious hip and shoulders, strong shepherding.

"And they will know that they've been playing"? Not @#$%&! likely. Most oppositions will have walked off the park thinking "well, that was a helluva lot easier than I expected".

So it's only one line in the song (or maybe 2, technically). I know a lot of the players probably haven't sung the song often enough to know about it, but I'll consider sending them the CD during the week.

If nothing else Denis, can't we leave a mark on our opposition physically? Christ knows we can't do it on the scoreboard, but with fair aggression channelled at the ball and the player with the ball, perhaps a team will, before the year is out, walk off the ground and to the following days' recovery session knowing...

that they've been playing against the famous old dark blues

Then I'll be happy.

agree tptally, just got back from the game feeling disheartened at how pathetic our tackles were...if you look back at the 3rd quarter, every goal that the saints kicked could have been stopped if our tackling in the centre had stuck strong...

Supply was under no pressure at all in that third quarter. Backline have no hope.

Pressure was ok in the 1st half. Had a chat at 1/2 time to the bloke next to me andwe agreed it was the best we've probably played in terms of effort since the Wizard Cup.

2nd half was a complete contrast.

We've shown the last two weeks we can play decent enough footy to not be blown away by the top teams, but we're either with it or we aren't.

The biggest problem here is not lack of ability

bluehammer and i had chat today about our tackles, or lack of. When we had a chance to put on a good tackle we just grabbed the jumper or grab the shorts, we dont grab players around the arms and body and put good hard tackles on, thus always leading to players getting an easy handball of or easy to break tackles. I thought Liba was 1 of the best tacklers in the game, so i am sure he can see what we are seeing.

I reckon Libba's taught our players more in the eye-gouging department than he has in the tackling department...

BH, agree totally....bring back Wiggo and I'm NOT joking...tell him we'll keep him next year if he manages to legally kill someone (from an opposing team!)

Players have got to want to tackle.
You can teach a player to tackle but they have to tackle when its their turn.
sometimes you actually see our players deliberately get out of the road so they dont have to tackle... its a mental frailty.
Some players dont want to be AFL footballers or dont have the stomach for competition..

they should go dig roads or work as pickers or something...

- we dont tackle
- we dont chase
- we dont hit targets
- we dont shepherd
- we dont run in numbers
- we have lost our home of princes park
- we have a coach who has no idea

i've supported these blokes for the last few years but ive had enough.
i'll still be there week in week out but how bad it kills me to see shit like st.kildas, western bulldogs and other fucknut sides like that continually embarass our boys year in year @#$%&! out.

i dont fricken know wtf is going on but for flowers sake i pray like anything for the carlton football club, the same fricken club ive supported all my life to show why we are the best side in this @#$%&! league and not the joke that we are now.

tank all you like, but this is no tanking, it is 22 blokes week in week out playing selfish, lazy and unaccountable football with a coach who is unable to even get them semi interested in doing the hard work to at least be competitive.

i just dont @#$%&! know

The worst thing is..........................................I'm not 100% sure we're tanking it!

I think Dennis has lost the players and our tatics are too easy to read! I also think that we are playing players out of position and they're not happy about it~

How do i know this/...............? Well i'm glad you asked.

Watch players such as Davies for example! Watch how he acts, i meen his body langue. Then go watch him play under Barry Mitchell! TOTAL DIFFERNT PLAYER.

Similar story with Diggby and to a lesser extent, Sporn.
