No ouch about...we've gotten off and have been getting off lightly...any other club, any other year ands the headlines would be sack the coach, board challenged, players unrest etc etc and it would have been for weeks now! In fact I'ld rather there were some serious arse kicking happening in the press....how about some analysis of why players aren't holding tackles eh! The press on Fev is spot on! Your signed up now...if you didn't get the message about mouthing off the first time...what's wrong with you (ps I love Fev! ![]() We have gotten off WAY too lightly |

People dont get it - the list is our list - you cant change it mid-season the AFL dont allow that too happen. This time last year Richmond were delivering the same sort of on-field performance and everyone was predicting doom and gloom. Picks 1 & 4 a few PSD's and hey presto!!! I'm not saying it will happen overnight like but it will happen. The list needs to be overhauled, and overhauled it will be. |

I have been a big fan of Brendan for years but the performance yesterday was shocking - dare I say it but Lloyd had a bag game on saturday but kicked 4 goals from 5 kicks - brendan must work on gulf between good performances and bad - will need to show character next sunday As for the team it should be pilloried 14 points down 10 minutes in third quarter and lose by 80 -shocking lack of intensity grunt - digging deep - playing for jumper - there were a few exceptions but not many The game goes for more than 2 quarters - we have been getting 2 quarters for the last 5 weeks Coach and board have got off lightly - Im 100% behind them but 2.5 games out of the games played is not good enough after 10 wins last year |

I still support signing Pagan up for 3 years but if he was connolly or laidley the press would be relentless if their team had lost all these games |

however this bloke has been signed for another 3 years No, I think that if Pagan had the same record but with draft picks at his disposal in his first two season he would be under immense pressure from the media. |

Im not sure what impact you think that 2 18 year old kids and a pre-season draft pick will have. Nick Stevens is a good player, and we will be lucky to get anyone of that quality again, but he is not superman, and he has been dragged down by the rest of the rabble running around in Navy blue. The core is rotten at Carlton. from the coach down. |

DP must drop Fev this week. That was a disgrace to carry on like that when the game was there to be won. It shouldn't be accepted at any stage of the game but the first quarter?? Bring in Fish, Karl, Barny out goes Prenda, Fev and Longmanure! |

If that's what you consider "overhauled", then you'd believe the team at Backyard Blitz do all the work, and all over just 2 days. You just keep rephrasing your hate of Denis. You'd prefer the coaching wiz that was Wayne Brittain back? Who are you anyway? Time Lane? |

![]() He also took the opportunity to sink the slipper in his column today, with this little gem, "St Kilda started the season premiership favourite but is not yet in the top eight. Yesterday it thrashed Carlton, but then, who hasn't? Blind Freddy can see we have a poor list, share with us something creative rather than the continuous griping that seems to dominate all your posts! The list is poor, we all know that, but the play group should not be this poor. There is obviously something very wrong. And the coach should be held responsible. St Kilda were missing a good 6-8 top line players yesterday at least of the calibre of Harvey, Hamil, Riewoldt etc. And they belted Carlton by 80 points. The Bulldogs who are just an average team with virtually no key position players, missing both Darcy and Grant, belted Carlton too. They team wasn't playing this bad last season, and they weren't playing like this in the Wizzard Cup either. We all know they are not up to it skill wise, but the coach should be getting the best out of the players, and he's not. The players just don't care, they don't care for the coach, the coaching staff or eachother. So what makes you think 2 rookies and a disgruntled played from another club is going to change anything when 80% of the players aren't responding anyway? Even if its only 50% who aren't responding, its players of the calibre of Fevola, Whitnall, Lappin, Houlihan, Stevens etc. who are the supposed to be the core of the group. You can't just overhaul everyone, it doesn't work that way. The club made a big mistake in re-signing Denis Pagan so hurridly. While I don't think Brittain was much chop, but he surely couldn't be doing any worse of a job that Pagan is doing, and on less than 1/4 of his salary, he'd be saving the club a hell of a lot of money (something they don't have much of). Is Pagan a coach for young players? his time at the Kangaroos doesn't really suggest that. He is a top coach but im not sure he's a teacher, and despite what some of you said, im not a Pagan hater, but i think he has a lot to do with the way the current team is playing, and should be held more responsible. He said the sky was the limit during the Wizzard Cup, now all he does is repeat that there is no talent. You can't believe a thing he says, and i don't think the playing group does either. |

I think Pagan's record with the U19's at both North Melbourne and Essendon* highlight his ability to teach/coach young players. |

Pagan was brilliant with the kids at nth and Essendon* - don't think that's a flaw that can stick. The question is - do the vets/leaders want to play hard tough accountable football - of not then we either get rid of pagan and go back to brittain's ring a ring a rosy that suited them just fine, plenty of stats, no hard runnig, not big hist or we get rid of them and get in bodies who'll do what pagan asks. See as you said yourself he got 10 wins last year and the whizz fizz cup with a shite list - so it sin;tthe cvoaching, its the core group oif players that this club depends on to be competitive that are not working anywhere near hard enough. Kouta was called disinterested! On the weekend. that's the worst that can be flung at a player - will he respond? I hope so but my heart tells me no, tells me he is stuffed and Stevo by my source is still feeling the effects so that leaves us with fev - who I would have traded (rules say we now can't so we are stuck with him) Whits (trade/delist) Campo (ditto) and lappin (ditto) Thats 3 more down. then Kouta next year... that's how bad this is _ we have players who have foiyught long and maybe even hard but who i think are not fighting any longer. So long folks and thanks for all the fish - actually Kouta i will sadly miss but his last few weeks have been on the nose. is he injured? |

One thing to remember is, Pagan got those young guns coming through at North. He built a great team from youth, no question...... but there were several North legends in that lot. Perhaps he has trouble developing lesser players.... making middle tier players serviceable. There are a couple of North players who have developed heaps under Laidley...... like Rawlings etc. I'm not saying Laidley is better than Pagan... but questions have to raised over Pagan's ability to make average players good.... an essential feature of a coach. Pagan should be held accountable for some of our predicament. |
