From AFL.com Quote: But there was at least one bright spot for the Blues in the improved performance of Kade Simpson, who kicked three goals and in just his 14th game looked a class above his bedraggled teammates.
This, my Navy Blue brethren is a small glimpse of the future. Simmo, brought slowly through the system, like Jarrad Waite before him, slowly starting to deliver. I reckon Simmo has been great in his last 2 or 3 outings. He is getting better with each game, as is, in my opinion, Livo. Its hard to cop the floggings, but things like Simmo's development make the floggings a little easier to bear. |

Simmo is coming of age and is doing a mighty fine job of keeping the Carlton Fans Happy, well me anyway. He doesnt mind the contact does simmo and puts his head over the ball i cant wait till he has more games under his belt and a bit more confidence. Well done Simpson!!! |

Very big of you Duke ![]() ....My only fear at the moment is for those who are getting a game! I think the young ones in the NB are being shown a culture of success and team spirit. That's why Russel was held off for so long. I think Kade and Bryan will be here next year and are playing out of necesity rather than "good form" ....but it's great to see them both putting in and not dropping their form back. There's no doubt that the following (who will be around) have dropped form due to the culture (mostly unaccountable) around them: Stevens, Thornton, McGrath, Teague, Fev (yes Fev!) - he gets bagged for his lack of defensive work and dropping his head and playing for frees...HELLO! (Note I haven't mentioned thos who were never particulalrly good on their defensive game...) |

Simmo was fantastic yesterday. Not so sure whether Livo is up to it. I hope he does make but I can't see it |

Come on board everybody, I'm driving the Simmo bandwagon. Not like the Richmond bandwagon, this one is going somewhere near the suburb of 200 games. Go Slimmo. I am very pleased others are enjoying Simmo, I'm getting sick & tired of people having a go at Simmo when he doesn't get 15 stats from 48 seconds on the ground. Yes, I acknowledge that he was killed in the Crows game, but correct me if I'm wrong even Kouta has been killed the last month. Players have shockers occasionally, and the tight in close game doesnt suit Simmo. But Kade's last month has been great. Well done Simmo, I was that proud for you yesterday. |

He was great wasn't he?! It's good to see that others are starting to see what myself, Molsey, Synbad etc etc have been seeing this year. |

Yeah, agree with the overall sentiment here. Simmo, Waite, Livo, Walker and Bryan have made this unbearable shitty season a little less unbearable and shitty (did that even make sense? You all know what I mean.). Looking forward to these guys being the cornerstones as we improve in the next three or four seasons (hell, we can't get any worse, can we?) |

Thanks Funger, someone has to keep tabs on the crap I spew forth. ![]() So that's 6 good young players, coming through the ranks and trying their darnedest..... Carrots, Walker, Livo, Simmo, Bryan, Waite. Add the balance of Thornton when he comes good again and a young Brad Fisher and we have 1/3 of a very good young team. It's just the other 14 spots we need to fill for our 2012 premiership team. |

Has probably gone up a bit after yesterday's game, but support for him and his future has been pretty good overall IMO. |

I remember a time where everyone was saying he was too skinny and didn't do enough on the ground with the time he was given. In other words...not many people thought he was much chop. With the club being short on genuine talent, Simmo is one player that, if given the right support, could become a GREAT player for this club. |

Simmo has always had his doubters, probably always will, but for the most part Blues supporters have recognized he needs time and have been patient with him. |
