Not entirely surprising. The way the 1sts are playing, I wouldn't mind sending Russell back there for the rest of the year to stop him getting mentally scarred. Having said that, I hope he's a mentally strong kid, I saw him encouraging players off the paddock on Sunday.

I think Fev should be rested, his groin is going to be worth $400K or thereabouts next year, let's ease him off otherwise he could end up with problems next year if he has no pre-season.

Disappointed Digby did not get a spot in the squad. Has playing well in the Blueants and deserves another chance in my opinion. Very pleased to see Eddie and Fish back.

I suspect the weather may have gone against Diggers.

Hopefully Eddie, Fish and Russell will all get game time.

On Fev and his injury, Parkin just commented on WLF that he believes Kouta, Stevens, Campo and Fev are all playing injured and wouldn't be surprised if one, or all of them require some sort of corrective surgery at season's end.

I reckon we could win this game and I think on that basis we should select our best team. A win would be great for everyone involved in the club, least of all the fans, beside we have a couple of wins up our sleeve, so may as well use one now.

Thanks, as always, sas87. ;)

I beleive that would be correct.

Prender - Need him to give Bryan a rest.
Bowyer - Played ok last week and deserves to keep his spot.
Houlihan - Can't drop our most skilled player.
Russell - You'd be stupid to drop him after one week.

We're not exactly in a position to be picking and choosing when we use our 2 wins so I say go for it

Diggby has kicked 29 goals in 7 or so weeks and he can't get into the side?
Poor guy!

Although on a more positive note:- Glad to see my boy Prendagast still in the side~!

Sporn did enough to warrant getting named in the squad?

God help us.

Houla was off the ground having a lot of work on his groin last week so may be in doubt.

What has Sporn done all year to be even mentioned - the only thing I can recall is a good mark against Port.

While it's good to see Fish named in the seniors I hope he doesn't play if it's going to be wet and slippery on Sunday. Not worth risking him in those conditions AFAIC.

He's been ready for a long time now, and playing in shit rainy conditions for the Ants. We can't baby him forever, and I'd rather start him at the G than the Dome

There'll be a lot more intensity and speed than in a VFL game though. But it's a fair enough comment fev... I think it's just me... I always get ultra-apprehensive watching one of our boys coming back from a knee reco.

Post subject:  Farmer out!

http://www.abc.net.au/sport/content/200507/s1414607.htm

"Fremantle star Jeff Farmer has been ruled out of Sunday's match against Carlton at the MCG after straining his hamstring at a closed training session on Thursday afternoon."

to be honest, it probably just decreases the goal difference marginally

still, it might open up a few opportunities for some of our players that might not otherwise have been there!
