Absolutely wrapped for Fish who was fantastic in his first game back.

Kudos to Scotto who ran and tried his guts out. Credit to Lance as well for battling away.

Young guns in Simmo, Waite, Carrotts, Livo, Betts & 1AW continuing to progress.

Throw in McGrath for a mention as well who was positive and provided some good run and foot passing.

We kicked 17 goals with our full forward taking kick ins at full back.
Fisher was excellent.
Simmo showed real signs of becoming a very good player.
Scotland got plenty of the ball and McGrath was a handy contributor off the bench.
Longmuir did a few nice things.
Teague smashed Sandilands' nose.

Fisher and Simmo.

Carrazzos continued improvement, gonna be a first class player. Bryan continuing to stand tall.

Scotlands return to form, Kouta's return to form.

Waite going to CHB was a positive, would've learnt tons and went back up forward in the last took a couple marks and kicked 2.

Longmuir.

Liked Livo's game on McPharlin...Simmo looks like he belongs, two weeks in a row with 3 goals, very polished....Carrazzo was great...Scotland got plently of it and used it pretty well...The main positive is that we didn't let the scoreline blow out...And the return of the Fish, great game, 10 marks...didn't take any time for him to get back to the pace of AFL...

Why can't Walker ever hold on to those hangers, one day he will take mark of the year 8) 8)

Fisher, great return. Do his confidence good.

Simmo, on the run 50 meter specialist. Starting to take players on and outrun them

Scotland got plenty of the footy.

Kicked over 100 points...

Carrots, getting better and better with every game.

Waite for going hard at Troy Cook at the second bounce and putting him on his arse after Cook put Kouta down at the first bounce. About time someone stood up for the jumper and should some mongrel..

Fish, AW, Carrots, Longmuir, Scotland, Simmo (told you he'd come good) and Waite.

Waite looks at home in the forward line and Fish adds that class we have been lacking.

We got a glimpse of the future today.

We were more efficient scoring wise going inside 50 just couldn't convert into goals but that will come and we matched them for scoring shots.

We also put up a fight and gave an effort - even got into some argy bargy.

When Fisher got his first goal practically the whole team ran to him to congratulate him.

Campo seemed to do some on field mentoring today.

Is Lance really a defender ??

I though that Pagan made quite a few good match day moves... e.g. moving Lance on to Sandelin (spelling?) when he was killing us, moving Brendan out of the forward line when he was in the way...

This was the type of loss I can "take", last week I was depressed, this week I saw a lot of Carlton future. I sat at the G and imagined a good KPP in defence and a couple of good fast midfielders, decent ruck etc. and then players like Fish, Waite, AW, Kade, Carazzo etc. yeah, this can and will turn around within a year or two.....

Yep was much happier than the previous weeks played out the game just missed shot and prob lost out in the Midfield but yep we saw a bit of the future

Great return of the Fish played a great game 3.3 Goals 22 possesions 10 marks.
Carrots continues to improve and will be good in the middle.
Simpson continues to improve and should be now be a regular senior player
Scotlands return to form 37 possies
Longmuir did some nice things during the game
Waite also shows so much will be better again in 2006 :)
Others who continue to improve - 1AW / Livo / McGrath
Betts tackling :)

But just happy they kept at it most of the game 32 scoring shots a piece
and without a key ruckman we tweek up the midfield come 2006 we will bounce back.

Shame about Thornton going down early

I can't be too disappointed today, there were some really positive signs:

Simpson - starting to look like an AFL player, his opponent was Heath Black who was one of Freo's best but Kade is doing very well at the moment.

Fisher - first game back from injury was sensational. Kicked 3 and could easily have kicked 5 or 6 but gives us another option and with Longmuir actually made us look pretty dangerous up forward.

Scotland - very good today, was bizarrely put back onto Medhurst at one stage in the second quarter, not sure why. 36 possessions and seems to be running into form after playing reasonably well against WCE and St. Kilda.

Teague and Livingston - not so much what they did themselves but the fact that their opponents, Medhurst and McPharlin respectively, had no impact at all.

Carrazzo - ball magnet, some bad turnovers that cost us but good to see him in the middle now and would have learnt a lot from playing on Haselby.

Camporeale - won't get any credit on here but again he was pretty decent. Yes a few times he didn't chase and his opponent Peake kicked a few goals on him in the second quarter. But close to 30 possessions and at least he gets the footy and provides an option.

We also kicked 17 goals and could easily have had a few more too. Also good to see that we really fought it out, when it got to 10 or so goals the difference I feared that we were in for another 12-15 goal loss but at least this week we kept going until the end.

Sorry, but I can not agree with you. It is not only the quantity of possesions it is the quality. He continues handballing to people under pressure and does not chase and tackle. This is bad leadership and it was the young guys in Fischer and Kade who did show leadership. I think we would be better dropping him and put a "hungry" youngster in instead.

I'd drop Stevens before Campo on the last few weeks games
Great games to Fish and Carrots. Nice to see Scotland have a good game.
Livo did well on the last line too.

For me:

Waite - Although Pavlich ran riot, most of it was before Waite got to him. Battled bravely.

Simmo - Said it in the game report thread, he has arrived. Loved his game today.

Fish - Hasn't missed a beat. Kicking has improved markedly, doesn't look anywhere near as awkward. Looking forward to seeing the no. 14 run around each week.

Longmuir - Close to his best game for us. Attacked the footy with a bit of vigour.

Livo - Beat McPharlin hands down.

Fev - Had a dirty day, was continually raped by the umpires, yet still didn't throw a tanty. Tried his guts out.

Overall - Fought the game out. Didn't drop our heads, even when ten goals down. Ran the game out, and didn't resort to that flooding shit.
