I know this covers some old ground, but if any of you are wondering why we can't win a game, take a look at this. On the weekend, Carlton only fielded 5 draftees in its 22 from the drafts 1997 - 2001 (inclusive) Fevola, Prendergast, Waite (f/s), Thornton and Livingston Players fom these drafts should be in the prime of their careers and we just haven't drafted enough quality players over the years. Compare that to Geelong (randomly chosen top 8 compaison) with 11 Rahilly Scarlett (f/s) Corey Chapman Ling Hunt Bartel Kelly Gary Ablett (f/s) Playfair Johnson And add-in Enright, Harley, Wojcinski, Steve Johnson, Gardiner who are all in geelong's best 22. That's 16 in total. |

I think that stat hurts us more than "the" penalties. ![]() |

Not something our former recruiters would want reminding of. That 2000 draft has really burnt us. The pressure's really on Wayne Hughes and his team this year. If they can get the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounders right at this year's draft we'll be back sooner rather than later. |

![]() It does. While Wells Goddard and McLean would be a great help to us (I think the bonus of Stevens falling in our lap makes up for one of them) we've hurt ourselves as much as the AFL have. |
