hey guys , im from wollongong and being a student i dont get to melbourne very often due to my precarious finacial situtation. this weekend however came down to see carlton play fremantle. i thought we would have some kind of chance of a win though it seems i was dead wrong. i was in pain the entire game except for a few moments where we looked like we were going to pull back the lead then kouta hit the post and that was the end of that. and when i wanted to give hand out some abuse there were too many small children on the fence in front of me. (this however didnt stop one carlton supporter from not just abusing the team but the 4-6 year old children too)..lol. Anyways i watch all the games either on fox footy channel or replays on afl.com.au, though i dont think i have ever seen carlton play that badly, as at no time did we ever resemble a team. Can someone please tell me if i have been somewhat shielded by televison or do we play that pathetically every week?

We play that pathetically every week. In fact probably worse.

dane - that was actually a good performance when you consider our past month......sad, but true.

I tell you what TV would have shielded this week;

1) Lappin being undisciplined & dis-interested off the ball
2) Prenta slamming the ball on his boot & not even trying to hit leading forwards (on more than one occassion)
3) Carrots straightening up at CHB, but no one leading at him, therefore having to stop, prop & deliver to the wing
4) Fev leading to the 'fat side' one on one, but the ball being kicked to a pack that included Longmuir (Troy), Betts & Fisher - three on three

That is actually a good thing because whenever he tries to hit Carlton players on the chest it invariably lands chest high laces out for the opposition.

I think that it is a rule that Prenda is not allowed to short pass.

Well he is one of the only ones following the coaches instructions.

Maybe he'll get the Coaches Aaward or Best Team Man come B&F night :D

This is a very common occurence in our team. We look so much better when we move the ball quickly but so often a player will be running or even have taken a mark at half forward/wing and our forward line has no movement. Often Fev is on the wing not even attempting to get in front of the ball and the other forwads are frozen just waiting for the ball to be kicked to a pack. If you watch any other forward line there is constant leading which creates hiles for others to lead into.
This just doesn't happen often enough in our 50
