Enjoyed the game yesterday, we contested well, but just lacked class. This was nowhere more obvious than in kicking skills. Just a casual look through Sunday's team and I reckon the following have below par kicking skills:
Bowyer; Livo; Carazzo; Prenda; Longmuir; Fish (great return but really is an average kick); Walker; Johnson; Waite. That's a lot of guys in one team, several of them good ball winners, but none can kick long, or pass well, or kick for goal well. Both Fish (prior to injury) and Waite miss too many gettable goals for instance. Hard to substantially improve guys kicking, but it is a worry for the future.

Got to say Fishers kicking yesterday was a substantial improvement of where he was at pre injury.Having said that he is coming off a very low base. The old Fisher was struggling for any distance at least now there seems to be a little more oomph in it.

His pass to Longmuir that saw a turnover and subsequent last goal to Pavlich left a bad taste however.

Spot on 7dom.....in the warm-up he was having a set shot just outside 50m and I said to my mate "What's he doing, there's no way he can kick that" - then proceeded to slot it through beautifully, thought he overall kicking skills were a lot better than they were pre-knee reco.

However, some guys are still a major concern.....with Bowyer, Livo & Waite at the top of that heap, whereas Carrazzo has improved markedly since his arrival into the midfield.

Longmuir's a pretty good kick. I know he's missing a few with his goalkicking, but it's not a technique thing with him. He's got a lovely kicking style and the ball actually spins properly. As his confidence increases, he'll be a pretty good sharp-shooter, I reckon. (His kicking for goal in the 2nds has been very good.)

Agree Fisher's kicking looked markedly improved yesterday, he was getting much better distance than when last we saw him.

Waite certainly needs to work on his, but Campo seems to have given up trying to kick long and quickly to the forwards. Johnson's kicking was terrible.

In defence of Jarrad, he has improved his kicking from earlier in the year. Agree that it still needs a lot of work but at least he's shown some improvement in this area which is a good sign.

We have so few players with good kicking skills yet we drop one of our best to the Ants.
