Joe Hachem, the recently crowned World Poker Champion has been seconded to the Carlton Board to assist in player contracts.

Ian Collins suggested that he(Collins) thought he had a good poker face for negotiations but the Carlton fanatic Joe was mind blowing..

But he won't have enough money in bank to go "All In" against the likes of Kouta/Campo and Lance...

Heard Joe and his brother Tony on the radio this morning and both are mad Blues supporters. Andrew Maher suggested that Joe should sponsor the Blues with part of his winnings.

I know both the boys well, and i can say one thing, they are Carlton through and through, the club would be mad not to get the boys involved in some way.

spot on there - ive been known to sit down for a 12 hours session myself when me and my poker buddies get together.

really - the best poker game there is.

it takes skill, more skill and even more skill to play this game.

its more about your opponent than the cards you have infront of you.

If I was this Joe Hachem guy I would do the following..

Won 10 million and had to pay 6% to the Casino..

Leaves him with 9.4 million..

Pay the casino 1 million to say he lost 6 million in the high rollers room.

Leaves him with 2.4 mill to bring back into Australia and get taxed on.

Put the other 6 mill in a swiss bank account where the ATO can't touch...

Good to see a St Joseph's Marist Brothers North Fitzroy old boy do good!

Add Vince Colosimo, Bert Newton, Rohan Burke, etc what a nursery ground.

Highly unlikely that the ATO will chase this guy for Tax on his gambling winnings, the Govt and ATO are not that stupid, if they want to hit people with taxing their gambling winnings they will also have to wear the deductions people will claim for their gambling losses, it will never happen.

I've had some dealings with Joe's brother Tony and I can certainly vouch that he is a made blues fan. Circumstances dictated that we not talk about the matter at hand, so we discovered that we were each blues fans and from there that became the sole topic of conversation - suited me not only because I'm always happy "Talking Carlton" but because it made sure we didn't stray onto the topic of the court case, which would have made his lawyer unhappy and put me in a difficult position.
