Post subject:  Failure of Consideration

I reckon with all the talk of who's here and who is not, that we need to consider the situation of existing contracts.

Take the Fev.

He is signed as a key player. One of the few. Big money, a leadership role, a person who we can build a team around, who will kick goals for us.

He signs.

He has NOT KICKED A GOAL SINCE.

quite clearly, consideration has failed. No goals, no leadership, and more: lying, turf thumping, mouthing off.....

obviously the signing has made no impact, and it is clear, at law, that we could terminate his contract for failed consieration - he has not delivered.

Think.....

Don't just jump in and crucify him or anything.....

How's the delivery of the ball been to our goalkicker lately?

Worse than shithouse I would say.

When that delivery improves, if he is still kicking bags o'nothing, then come back to me.

Maybe the agreement was in the form of a deed, so consideration is not required

He didn't really spend any time inside 50 last week either... I thought he played a good game up the field...

Fev in a good team could win you a flag...he is going to have downers and you have to carry him in some games...I thought he was ordinary with attitude vs Saints but did try vs Freo..as others have said..delivery is nothing special and he relies on his leading...I still have faith in Fev delivering once we right all our problems and sort out the list, contracts etc etc.....

The vet, The new contract starts in 2006, you will have to wait.
Fev is covered by his $250k p.a. annum contract at the moment.

Agree with you Elwood - as well Fevola can play up the ground and feed the forward line - something that hardly any other Full Forward can do. His pass to Nick Stevens who led out to Fev (last Sunday) was "Stevensesque". Stevens kicked the goal by the way, but Fevola doesn't get credit for the assist.
