Unless Weiters is available, no changes

Ison has had a good block of 5 matches - maybe he would benefit from a run in the VFL? He seems to be struggling with the pace and physicality of the AFL.

Yeah, ZWill for Ison and Weiters for DDMJ would be my changes

Yes, the consensus of the TC cohort at the match was that Ison needs a rest and has reached his limit of this block of senior games.

Williams looked good in the twos and would have given better value in the seniors.

Out: Derksen and Ison
In: Weitering and Williams

If Weitering isn’t ready then bring L Young in for Derksen. L Young was also good in the VFL.

I would actually reward Derkson. His first quarter was rough but gee I thought he was good after qtr time.

He, Harry Dean, Haines and McGovern were no chance on paper and did a great job.

And Lachie Cowan was in my votes.

If Weiters isn't back, Derkson stays in my view.

Yep.

Zac was a class above in the VFL today.
Weitering is an improvement on Derksen....unless Fraser and the MC stick with their policy of returning through the VFL after injury....like Williams, Hollands, Lord and Saad have

Mate, I have Lewis Young ahead of Derksen in the backline. Taller, quicker and takes contested marks, even under pressure.

We’re playing nine forwards, so Weitering might come in for Ison & give Derksen a run up front?

Just as long as they don’t pick Cottrell or Acres!
Oh, wait…

Who comes in for Kemp you can't keep rewarding that garbage.

Maybe Weiters in Derkson forward

Also Lewis Young despite his form in VFL should never play again

Byrne and Ison are struggling time to regain form in reserves and bring in Holland's and Williams

drop kemp and move derkson forward

bring in weiters or l young if weiters isnt ready

ison has not lost a game, is he this years fog from 2023?

good game for him and talor to get a bit of form, one more chance, then if they struggle bring in williams and f young the following week

Can’t agree re: dropping Kemp. Our most dangerous forward currently. Just fix the issue.

Ison and Byrne played half a game each. They might or might not be dropped for a full game but currently It’s more about looking after them long term. Actually Josh’s rotations have been very, very good.

The Team is performing well so they have kept the likes of Williams and Hollands in the VFL. Another week for Weiters wouldn't be a bad thing, just to freshen him up. He had the Big hit in the Vic game so he had a very slow start. He plays virtually 100% of games.

Deano and Derk are holding down the fort very well. WCE don't have power forwards, any greater than GWS. Derk vs Waterman 192. Deano vs Shanahan 195 and skinny.

Ison has had a good taste with 5 from 5 wins. He is looking low on petrol tickets. Is Williams a better option? Maybe.

The team is showing no sign of taking life easy. The light at the end of the tunnel is no-longer the oncoming train. They look to be loving playing together. The Cotts, after match show, was brilliant. He really got them singing at 100% once he started it off.

Perhaps that is the new Mantra - "Enjoy, enjoy enjoy and just have fun".

I'm much the same. Not much *need* for changes.

I also agree Ison looked a bit jaded. Perhaps he'd be the only out... and I actually thought Derksen was pretty solid, so it'd be rough to leave him out too.

However, if Weitering is fit he's 100% included.

Marvel is a fast deck, so I don't know if you'd drop Ison for Weitering and keep Derksen in... It does give you a lot of defensive flexibility and the option of sending Derksen forward (because I also agree we lack a bit of a target forward when McKay is in the ruck).

But Williams is a good footballer (despite the burden of his enormous salary), and Hollands was in good touch when we went out of the side...

It's nice to have some depth.

When Hollands got injured I couldn't wait for him to come back, because I felt we needed Cerra in the midfield rotation. But with Hewett on fire and Cez-Acres doing fantastic work on the wings, I don't see a path back for Ollie until someone gets hurt or loses form. Great option to have, though.

This is a game we are expected to win and win well.
We all know what has happened in the past when we go in as favourites.
Just win.

Acres’ shoulders are always one good whack away from a 3-4 week layoff. He got drilled by one of the little fellas late in the game, so he’ll be a test.

I was surprised to see the little Bunsen Byrner rated so low. He looked like a real menace on the coverage. Frankie got the spoils on the day. I’d be inclined to keep both of the young fellas in, though wouldn’t be surprised if Ison gets a bit of a heat check.

Moir could get a run, if only to keep the lure within sight. Werribee might be a better test?

Don’t @#$%&! with it too much. We’ll need to fill them in if finals are on. Same again the week after.

Hawthorn & Filth will decide the season.
