It seems 79V was upset with my ode to Marc so if anyone else also was sorry it really was meant to be in jest but then lots of jokes offend and this may have been one of them.

I thought it was funny but then the kids who pulled my pants down in the main street outside the Tech school just as the tech kids were streaming out to go home (not that I'm scarred by this incident mind you) when I was seven probably thought that was hysterical :?

I may be a disgrace Vintage but hey, mum's been telling me that for years and my kids certainly get embarassed at times. So hope there's no lasting damage just chalk it up to - 'hey he's a disgrace sometimnes and not others'.

sorry all.

Danny

I'm in love
With the belle of St Marc

in Tyrants heartfelt thread (page 3) Camel, see its all tyrant's fault he makes me laugh and then I go and attempt something jocular (don't you love that word - always makes me think of balls and jockstraps and such like) and upset people.

Truly never meant to offend just replying to Tyrant's roses with some thorns.

I just had a look at the lyrics and I think Sheila E had premonitions about Marc Murphy:

The Belle of St. Marc

The belle of St. Marc was a fair but a passionate creature
ebony hair and eyes of deep blue-green
The belle of St. Marc wore clothes that belonged to his father
even though he was only a mere seventeen

Chorus:

I´m in love
I´m in love
I´m in love
with the belle of St. Marc.
It tears me apart whenever I hear him cry.
I´m in love
I´m in love
I´m in love
with the belle of St. Marc
And if he doesn´t love me I think I´ll probably die.

You can tell from expressions that he makes public
that he suffers from a badly broken heart.
He smiles as he feeds the afternoon pigeons
but he cries as he walks the night streets of St. Marc

Chorus

Bridge:
The belle of St. Marc he don´t talk to lions
He´s so mysterious
His erotic persuasion provokes me like no other man
The fire I have for him is undoubtably serious
(spoken):
I must make him see that he needs love to forget
And if anyone can help him, I can
I can help.
I can help you.

His Paris hair blows in the warm Parisian air
It blows whenever his Paris hair is there
The woman who hurt him surely must have trouble sleeping
´cause the belle of St. Marc is a beauty extraordinaire

no probs camel'

can i just say also (yes this is really starting to bug me) the point I was trying to make was how we set these kids up as superheroic saviour tpyes then we bag the shit out of them when they don;t deliver - like how AW is getting some flak for being a kid learning the craft not an instant super-inflatable playing machine!

that's all

for now

Danny, it was funny. Funny posts should be taken as such, serious ones too. If we took ourselves too seriously all the time the TC suicide rate would be through the roof...
