The Lions are getting very busy trying to lure our boy Murphy north.

Word is they will offer him a back-ended three-year deal (it's usually two years for draftees).

Our boy's old man John Murphy says he won't stand in the way as the decision will be Marc's. The Lions have been talking with Marc.
Said there was unlikely to be a decision until the end of the season but added the Lions had been "fantastic".

Brisbane is even proposing rule changes whereby the AFL determines the value of father-son draftees and clubs may have to forgo a higher pick to snare higher-rated players.
They're desperate.
We're in for a fight, it seems.

Hey..... WE should be able to offer Marc more money too!!!!

I'd offer Marc Murphy the same deal Collingwood gave Travis Cloke.

$500k over 4 years.

$50k for 2 years
$200k each for the next 2

Is it illegal if WE lobby?

Look, Carlton and Hawthorn should team up for this. If we can pick Murphy, that leaves the next-best for Hawthorn. If Murphy doesn't nominate, that stuffs Hawthorn up too! They'll miss out on Xavier Ellis or whoever they want.

Its PATENTLY unfair if the Lions can lobby this kid and we can't.

I think you will find the Blues are also in Marc Murphies Ear as well and will be offerning similar style contracts not to say he will stay but there are still his desire to be ist choice and stay in Melbourne

We will have to wait until we see where Marc Wants to play i guess
