Fisher fevola waite betts - could be part of our forward line for the next 5 years or more Forward line has looked so much better the last 3 weeks with the inclusion of fisher Good sign to kick 22 goals with fev kicking 4 and whitnall and lappin none Waite and fisher need to work harder on kicking for goal but are improving all the time Now we need to work on more talent in middle and in backline |

If you think that forward line is going to kick a winning score against some of the better defensive units in the competition then it might be wise to rethink your position. Need to add a power forward and a burly CHF and THEN it will kick butt. As for the other areas, try tossing a ruckman plus a good back-up ruckman into the mix and then I'll listen even further. |

Our forward line has never been the problem really, as Frank said the problems are in midfield and defence. That's not to say that we have a super forward-line but with a few more midfielders and more solidity down back we'd look alright.. Fevola, Fisher, Waite, Lappin, Longmuir, Betts, Lappin, Whitnall of course can kick a goal...there's some goal-kicking talent among that lot. Would agree that maybe we need another power forward but the forward line is the least of our worries in my opinion. |

A couple of observations 3 of the guys I mentioned have much scope for improvement given how young they are Fisher and waite will get stronger with more gym work Fevola has kicked over 60 goals the last 2 years with an ordinary midfieldhow well will we go if he has a midfield that doesnt kick over his head or at his bootlaces And didnt I SAY they will form part of a forward line - yes we need more forwards and a spalding type chf would top it off nicely -but sheiky baby please read what I said rather than reading what you think I said Frank Always bland Dardew |

Isn't it great Frank to have Sheik back on the Board. It's just like four years ago but a different forum ... |

compare that to when we had whitnall & Mckernan loping around....much quicker, younger fwd line. Add a fit and firing De Luca into the mix and I think e can worry side. But we all know our fwd line is OK, it's our defence and midfield that need the work. Great to see Kade Simpson (BTW, this week's Rising Star), Carazzo and Adam Bentick adding 18 possies each to our midfield. It is what we have been crying out for. Still need to add two-three more good defnders to the backline which is consistently letting in big scores. |

Great signs on the weekend. Midfield - Simpson, Carrazzo, Bentick, Stevens, Scotland and Kouta were great. Chambers chipped in also. Forwards - Fisher, Betts, Fevola, Waite were all great this week and last week. Longmuir handy. Hopefully Kouta and Bryan can spend more time down there as the big bodies. Defenders - Livingston, Whitnall, Camporeale were great. French, Lappin, Teague, Houlihan are still finding touch and are good players. Whitnalls playing down back and we still kick 22 goals. Deluca making his way back from injury will add height and mobility to the forwardline when fully fit. Morrell & Prender were handy triers on the weekend but still shouldnt be part of our best 22. Need a fully fit & firing Norman and Thornton along with next years midfielders Russell, Blackers, Smith, Becker, and 2005 draftees. Future does look good if Pagan keeps exposing the youngsters, giving them an extended and decent run in proprer positions. In for 2006 (hard to fit them all in but anyways...) - S.O'hAilpin: 198cm KPP/Ruckman - J.Smith: 183cm midfielder/forward - N.Becker: 185cm forward/midfielder - M.Murphy: 179cm midfielder - X.Ellis: 187cm half-back/midfielder - Another midfielder (say Jones or Swallow & 2 talls from the TAC - J.Crow: 197cm KPP/Ruckman from the Bullants (VFL) - M.Priddis: Tall left-foot midfielder from Subiaco (WAFL) |

big difference yday wasnt our forward line but the run and workrate of the midfield that has been non existant this season. guys like scotland and stevens started to find the footy and damage sides with it, while AB gave kouta a massive hand with clearances and hard ball get around the footy. also barney did a great job against the 3 ruckmen they threw at us |

I dont really think we need a power forward when we have the versatility we have at the moment. Waite and Fisher are two 190+ guys who are super quick and can take strong marks, and can also be dangerous when the ball hits the ground. I think a lot of people would say fev is a power forward, especially when fully fit. Geelong drafted ottens to be their power forward and that has not helped at all!! If we do need to have a big fella down forward busting open packs, which i think waite and fisher are doing fine at, but if they need help, we have o'bryan and deluca to fill that role. Deluca is great at crashing packs, it would be nice tho if someone could take that concrete off his hands - that might occur if he gets a full pre-season. |

Good forward line like Frank said but agree with the Sheik..we need a power CHF like Brown or Tredrae or we are going nowhere...we lack muscle and I dont care how many weights players lift or even swallow players like Fisher, Waite dont have the physical side to their game that could make them as effective as Brown, Tredrae, Kosi etc... Our midfield had a picnic and delivery was much better to Waite, Fish and Fev....when the delivery is down and the midfield being beaten its the Browns, Tredraes, Gehrigs,Halls etc who can still take contested marks or create a goal from nothing...we have to have the same....maybe Sentanta can be our man... |

Hartlett perhaps. Aisake in a few years. The club might have a close look at Ryder, Clark or Kennedy this year who could play that position long term. |
