A friend just called me because I am at work and said Tiffany Cherry half an hour ago said Lance was "likely to stay and close to signing a new deal"

Can anybody confirm this? or saw it on Fox Footy?

Geez I hope not, I would like to think that the club is keeping it's options open for the end of season wheeling and dealing. Lance isn't above this his last 4 years have been average at best, lets test the market.

dude from what i was told tonight he wants to bring this club back to were it belongs. He and Nick stevens are best of mates and actually spoke highly of Dennis and guaranteed that they will not win more than 5 games.

Uh huh... uh huh...and what else????

Whitnall and Stevens have made a pact to take the club back to its former glory eh????

and they wont be winning anymore than 5 games...????

Whatabout the other 20 players in the team playing for their football careers are they in on the plan too???Or will Lance and stevens make sure the 5 game threshold wont be broken all by themselves.

I think you better stop this ridiculous Tiffany Lamb story....
Lance wont be at the club next year....

Unless something really weird happens...(like he is offered a contract and he signs it)

Even if he signs can he still be traded? I know of the 'Heffernan rule', but if both parties agree does this rule still matter?

This is great news if it's true.

"Trade Lance now while he has some value" blah blah f*cking blah.

What are we going to get for him? Some picks in the weakest draft for almost a decade? A pick and a 2nd tier player?
We've got 2nd tier players coming out of our ass.

Bartel aside, I see nothing out of contract that is worth sacrificing Lance for.

Get Murphy, then get Ellis/Dowler, and keep Lance.

Right on Cyclonus. Our priority should be getting those quality kids over the line, not some recycled hack.

350K for Lance?...thats top dollar, I know we need to get to 92.5% of the cap but 350K is too much based on his form this year...what about a performance based contract?
Are we rebuilding or rehiring the same players who have not been performing at the levels they are bing payed to perform at?

Perhaps a few people need to cast their minds back a bit before last week.
Lance has'nt had a good year contrary to what you and some others may think.
Lance was in our best players once in the first 10 rounds!
Once in ten games of footy!

I tell you what we should get for him.
The opportunity to draft kids who are desperate to play AFL footy.
Not someone who plays 4 or 5 games of good footy per year.
Lance is lazy, commits himself when he feels like it and undisciplined.
He may want to stay, well he should of thought about that 2 years ago.

You talk about second tier players, Lance is one.
If he's willing to stay and be paid as one, fair enough.
If he's not, trade him.

Perhaps it may be a weak draft (funnily I hear that most years :? ) but at least we will build for our future if we get kids.
BTW, just because you see nothing other than Bartel doesnt mean it doesnt exist.

All you guys that are of a negative view on Lance need to have a good hard look. Lance will win the B & F this year and I will be thrilled when he signs up to stay.
